I’m starting to think I would like to go back to 8.1 vorpx also.. .9 works for me and some games work really good and super clear. The main thing is there just doesn’t seem to be as much adjustment as in previous versions. Some settings don’t seem to do much of anything when before they did, and there was more of them. Also the visuals are clear, something just feel off with .9, even after dialing it in settings wise. I know most of it is on Oculus side and more updates to vorpx will only get better. But having an option to go back to .8.1 vorpx would really be good. Before I could dial in any game I set out to now I got only 2-3 actaully set up really good. All in all vorpx .9 is good and works with Oculus updates but 8.1 was better in almost every way, at least from just a user standpoint. I like it but the old version was indeed “better” in my opinion. Looking forward to further updates :)

Can Anybody tell me what im doing wrong here.

I start vorpx, start gta5 from steam but i refuses to start in VR.

    Yes it’s a legale copy of gta . I am on runtime 0.6 … do I need to be on 0.8 ?

    Thnx

Yes Spyah, I have a similar issue. I am running 0.8 and it seems Vorpx has a tough time hooking to GTA5 sometimes. Just a blank Oculus screen. I have been able to get it to work by alt tabbing out and turning on and off the Oculus config demo screen and then alt tabbing back or restarting GTA5. Sometimes that wont work either. Not sure if it is a general problem or specific to a few of us.

I have 0.8 and it works for me.

Windows 8.1. I have radeon x280 upgraded drivers to 15.20

Note, I always run vorpx as administator. I remember having problems with other games prior to doing this.

Is the GTAV-R HUD mod still compatible with the GTAVR Mod v.0.3.2? I downloaded the version on nexusmods.com and installed using OpenIV, but when I start the game, no HUD is visible.

P.S. I haven’t gotten past the opening porsche chase, so I’m assuming the HUD, radar, and mini map should be visible at this point.

Yes looks like the GTAV-R MOD doesn’t work anymore, we must find a way to contact Cylon Surfer, the maker of this mod…

Hey, sorry if this is stupid but whatever I do I can’t play this because the sensitivity of the head-tracking while in vehicle is A LOT slower than while on foot. I followed every tutorial possible, I reset the settings (and then set them again) a few times, no matter what I do when I get in a vehicle I have to completely turn my head (in reality) just to be able to look out the window or at the passenger seat.

With input set to “windows” while on foot I have to set the head tracking sensitivity (using Vorpx) to 1.25 to be alright and while in vehicle only at maximum (5.00) it feels ok(ish).

Anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?

P.S. Of course I already tried turning “Mouse Driving Sensitivity” to max and playing around with the settings (done that for a few hours at least so I tried almost every combination possible) … nothing works.

    Thanks.

Have you also tried the “override xbox controller” settings in vorpx menu(press del) in “input settings” tab?
Btw, No dumb question. I have had the same problem and took me a long time before figuring that out.

Does anyone know how to increase the 3d stereo separation? I would like it above the maximum value of 2.0 . In the file C:\Users\name\AppData\Local\Animation Labs\vorpX\Profiles\gta5.exe.user.ini separation is saved as fSeparationNormal=2.000000 . Editting the value in this file to something higher does not help either. I’d really like to see higher separation cause I think it is WAY too low. I love this game it is my number 1, please help.

I highly recommend you download and install the GTA VR mod here…

    http://grandtheftvr.com

And follow the instructions. It might help to reset your VorpX settings to default before you do.

I really like this mod also. Head tracking sensitivity is spot on without tweaking!

Sadly when the rift is rolled sideways and you look up/down or left/right, the camera in game goes the wrong way (the more the rift is rolled). Yesterday I mailed the author about the problem. Vorpx headtracking doesn’t have this problem.

Thank you very much for all your responses.

Unfortunately I’m still in the same situation.

    @Jerrow
    – now that you said that I just went and tried (almost) all the combinations of the “override xbox controller” settings, using the “ok & save” options + exiting and restarting the game after switching the main option to the next one. Still no luck, nothing improved (not even a little) with any combination.

    @lipplog
    – I have already done that, I know the headtracking with that mod is AWESOME but the game si very buggy with that mod enabled, you can’t fist-fight; some missions require you to fist-fight and with this mod it’s so buggy it breaks all immersion; plus there are other bugs that tend to break immersion (can’t see yourself; I prefer the head-aim which they specifically removed; I find it much easier to move around without the mod active) so overall as gameplay I prefer the basic version of the game but headtracking is a MESS; about the VR mod I guess I only love the headtracking and all the rest I just hate.

I totally agree. I guess it’s a matter of the mod fixing the bugs, or VorpX fixing the head tracking. Whichever comes first.

    Have just taken a look.
    Gta V settings:
    -direct input
-mouse sensitivity all the way down.
    Vorpxsettings:
    Override xbox controller : full

headtracking sensitivity in car and out car is almost the same at mine like this.

Wish I could program it myself… But i don’t have much experience programming and the source code(of vorpx and/or the vr mod) is not public :( .

@Jerrow – I don’t know, I think it’s a bit better; at least it’s playable (even though I still have to look almost all the way back, in reality, in order to just see the passenger seat in game). I don’t think that the “override xbox controller” makes any difference, and turning it to “full” makes the game a mess for me (controlls are totally different) so I’ll just leave it on partial (only overriding the right analog stick).

Well until something gets improved (either vorpx or vr mode) at least it’s playable. I don’t want to waste any more hours just trying stuff without any success and then realizing I wasted so much time when I could have done something more useful. Thanks again for all your help.

Was someone able to get to see the minimap in game ?
The GTA VR HUD mod works, except we the minimap is not displayed…
