Quake 1 crashes on startup

I have Quake 1 just downloaded from the Steam Store, running the OpenGL version. Vorpx attaches and the loading screen appears on my monitor and Vorpx says “attached to glquake.exe”, but then Quake just closes. Quake works normally if Vorpx isn’t running. Using Vorpx 19.2.1 and a 1080ti.

DOn’t recall whether that may be necessary, but please try to run the game windowed by adding -windowed to its launch options in Steam. You can also set the resolution that way with -witdh x -height y.
