Figured it out. There are options in the in-game menu. Just had to experiment a little bit.

Anyway, I remember iz3d had some fps weapon fix. Not sure exactly what it did behind the scenes, but it minimized the separation of the weapons while allowing the user to set strong 3d depth. Not sure if anything like that can be done here, as a hack or something. Hopefully one day it can be fixed.

Me too. It’s the only thing keeping me from playing it.

It’s one of the games that render the gun model with an FOV a lot lower than the FOV used to render the world. FPS games often do this to make the gun look good on the monitor, for VR however it’s less than ideal. In some games this “viewmodel fov” can be adjusted separately, but as far as I’m aware no such option exists for Titanfall 2.

Apart from this glitch I found the game working outstandingly well with unusually good performance for a game that new.

It’s true, it runs very well for such an effects heavy game. Unfortunately the gun being at the same plane as the background kind of ruins it for me.

Tridef 3D has a profile where the gun is at the right depth, but performance is not as good as Vorpx.

EasyAntiCheat is blocking vorpX from hooking into FC5. Fortunately there is now a bypass method (thanks to the clever people writing trainers for the game) similar to the one used for Ghost Recon Wildlands that lets us play 🙂

Understand that this is an unofficial “hack” that could potentially incite a ban if used online. Please use offline only and proceed at your own risk.

    To bypass the EAC:
    – Google search: “fearless revolution far cry 5 dunia engine 2” and find page 1.
    – Download the zip under “Instructions” of the [28.03.2018 – First Release].
(The Updated method didn’t work for me, only the first)
    – Follow the installation instructions as copied below:

    —————————————————————–
    A) Backing-up/renaming:
    – In your Far Cry 5/bin/ folder first rename EACLaunch.exe to EACLaunch.exe.BAK
    – In your Far Cry 5/bin/ folder rename FC_m64.dll to FC_m64.dll.BAK
    – In your Far Cry 5/bin/EasyAntiCheat/ folder, rename EasyAntiCheat_x64.dll to EasyAntiCheat_x64.dll.BAK

    B) Place EasyAntiCheat_x64.dll file from the archive into your Far Cry 5/bin/EasyAntiCheat folder.

    C) Place FC_m64.dll file from the archive into your Far Cry 5/bin/ folder.
    —————————————————————–

Now, set up a vorpX profile for FarCry5.exe and you are good to go.

I’ve uploaded an Immersive Screen Z3D profile to the cloud for anyone to use.
(tested on Pimax 4k with game settings: 16:10, FOV 94, reticle “centered”)

In game FOV can go as high as 120, but I’ve found that does not apply to vehicles sadly. Still, a neat experience in vr so far. Enjoy!

p.s. @Ralf – I know you’ve tried with BattlEye, but wonder if you might contact EAC sometime to allow vorpX hooking in future games. I know some versions of Reshade have now been whitelisted, perhaps vorpX could as well. Might be worth a try, EAC seems to be here to stay :\

Tried the search you suggested and no links with google? I suppose they’re hiding it? Any other way to find it?

EDIT: Never mind. Just doesn’t work with quotes for some reason. Take off the quotes and you’re good to go.

Can you explain how to do it?

All you have to do is go into the vorpx settings and make a copy of the official Life is Strange before the storm profile, and assign the new profile to the Ghost in a Tale.exe.

I’m going to try it now.

EDIT: It works really, really well. Some shadows are slightly off but nothing major. This could be an official profile FOR the game, that’s how good it is. Be sure to put the game into Windowed mode or you won’t be able to use the controls. With some FOV adjustment it might actually be playable in fullvr as it is. This has nothing to do with vorpx but I wish the game’s makers hadn’t put that stupid red filter over the image. It just looks like the color is all messed up and low quality/muddy. I have no idea why developers do that.

    hello,

just a heads up, using Life is strange before the storm official profile the game works in G3D, totally playable in immersive screen mode.

I hope Ralf will do an official profile tho, this game is amazing :p

Oh, no way! I just got this and was hoping it might work. Totally trying this today. Thanks for the tip!

Wait, when did this start happening? I had EFLC running a couple of weeks ago. I remember I had to do something special with the .exe because it wouldn’t work–but I got it working in the end. I’ll see if I can remember what I did.

    What resolution are you using?

Sorry, its been a while since I tried the Grand Theft VR mod and I don’t remember which res I was using back then because I’ve switched it multiple times. Probably a default Vorpx res?

This might have the same root cause as similar issues reported in the past for Need for Speed: Most Wanted (here) and Assassin’s Creed 2 (here). There’s been no official comment yet, let’s hope Ralf can find the time to take a look 🙂

That suggests that support for those games was broken by one of the updates?

Love your work on NOLF2. Good stuff.

Sorry if it’s been covered, but is anyone successfully running the grandtheftvr.com mod? Whenever I add the mod, the screen is warped around the edges. I’ve tried multiple resolutions, but nothing seems to correct it except for deleting the mod.

I didn’t have that issue. I couldn’t get the touch controls to work right because vorpx had remapped them all in a way that didn’t work well with grandtheftvr–but I didn’t get screen warping.

Earlier in the thread, 1440p was already listed with the ideal 4:3 ratio. Even so, 1920 x 1440 is 1440p @ 4:3 ratio.

Check out the web page called calculateaspectratio.com. You can punch in any setting you like to get a proper ratio as long as your card driver supports using it. Just add https:// to the above address to get there.

    Cheers

Thanks, but when I run the game in 19201440, I get a 16×9 image–I can see this by using edge peak: the left and right sides of the image are cut off in fullvr, which means I assume that my PC is rendering those parts of the image for no reason. This is different than a 4:3 image, where when I use edge peak I can see that very little of the left and right side of the image is being cut off …

Just to briefly chime in here: the most important thing in regard to image sharpness is the resolution you run games with. A 1440p resolution roughly translates into a 1:1 pixel ratio for Rift/Vive. Running a game with a 1440p res, or ideally 1680p if your PC can handle that, and a little bit of image sharpening in the vorpX menu (don’t overdo that), looks great in most cases.

Thanks Ralph. What would be a good 4:3 1440 res?
