Good question. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a one size fits all answer. What I can offer is a support article from the Apple website that explains how to use various Apple keyboards with Bootcamp, including special key mappings and how to choose the correct keyboard type in Windows.

You can find it here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5636

    Hope that hepls.

Do you have the latest version installed (0.64). If in doubt, you can always use your original installer to install the most current update.

    Hope that helps.

Reinstalling currently overwrites all vorpX profiles, so the profiles most likely aren’t the cause of this. There are two other things that come to mind:

    1. Check whether you use another display resolution than before that maybe isn’t displayed correctly. In this case try to stick to the native 1280×800 of the Rift first.

    2. Another possibilty might be a wrong IPD in an Oculus profile if you use one. Oculus profiles are not reset by reinstalling vorpX. You can disable using an Oculus profile in the vorpX config app.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Veritas,

If you didn’t go through the complete trouble shooting sticky above already, please take a look at it. Other than that you could try to reinstall vorpX, ideally after restarting Windows. If absolutely nothing works something has to be seriously wrong. Maybe your installation is corrupt for whatever reason.

Two hints for Skyrim: Check whether there is a d3d9.dll present in your game directory (for example from one of those highly popular ENB mods) and remove/rename it. Regarding the shortcut, plase make sure to use TESV.EXE as the shurtcut target, not the launcher!

Also please write a mail to support |at| vorpx com with some additional info (basic system specs and games you tried) so that we can trouble shoot this further. Thanks.

If the auto update fails, you can simply use your original installer to update. It will always fetch the latest version from the server.

That’s only a workaround of course. To make the auto update work, you should also check whether vorpControl.exe is somehow blocked from accessing the internet, for example by your firewall or antivirus program.

    Hope that helps.

Just tried here twenty times in a row with the latest COD patch to make sure that didn’t change anything. Not a single failure.

Just to be sure: Did you try some basic trouble shooting stuff: rebooting Windows, reinstalling vorpX, disabling virus scanner/steam overlay etc.? Not sure whether that really helps of course, but it’s always worth a try.

Also: What OS are you on? That might also have an influence (although it shouldn’t in most cases).

    Hi ocus,

Please make sure that you use the latest vorpX version (should show 0.64 in the bottom left corner with working games), versions prior to 0.64 do not work with COD:Ghosts.

If the auto update didn’t work for you, you can simply use your original installer to update. It will always fetch the latest version.

Other than that there is nothing special to consider normally, you should be able to run the game from Steam like always.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Natalie,

Assuming that you use the latest version (should show 0.64 in the bottom left corner with working games) you already seem to have done everything that first comes to mind.

Just one thing, hope that doesn’t sound too stupid: did you also try to start BF4 the ‘normal’ way, through battlelog? With the latest version the offline workaround shouldn’t be necessary anymore for BF, even the 64bit version should work.

Z-Buffer 3D has a weaker 3D-effect then Geometry 3D, especially in the foreground of the scene. That’s the price for being twice as fast.

It works best in wide open spaces, for example in games like Skyrim or Crysis, where it can even look better than Geometry 3D in regard to overall scene depth. It’s not so great in smaller spaces where it can look a bit flat sometimes.

You can find a comparison between both methods here: https://www.vorpx.com/more-headtracking-z-buffer-vs-geometry-3d/

    Hope that helps.

Do you have the current vorpX version installed? It should show the version number 0.64 in the bottom left corner of the screen in games that work.

If not, please use the installer you got to reinstall vorpX. It will automatically fetch the latest version. Older versions do not work with 64bit games, which might be your issue, in case you still use an older one. Other than that I’m a bit out of ideas to be honest.

    Hope that helps,
    Ralf

    Hi zombie,

Does vorpX work at all (show the two circles on the monitor)? If so, does this happen in all games or only in one? Would be interesting to know which one, since this sounds very uncommon.

You can also set your IPD in the vorpX Config program btw., or calibrate it using the Oculus configuration tool (also accessible through vorpX Config).

    Hope that helps.

First thing you guys should try is to reinstall vorpX, which will also update it to the latest version.

If that doesn’t help, you might want to check whether there is a conflicct between your virus scanner and vorpX’s copy protection. To do so, either disable the scanner temporarily, or – much better for security reasons – exclude vorpControl.exe from the scanner.

    Hope that helps.

Good catch, thanks for letting me know. There were some changes to the startup process, and “Run As Admin” was never tested with these changes… Will be fixed shortly.

Edit: The version on the server now works again with the ‘run as admin’-option checked. I didn’t change the version number, so no auto update, but you can use your original installer to get it.
