Many dx9 games don't have 3D options

Hello. I read that games that are dx9 should run, even if unsupported, but the problem is that most games don’t have any 3D options available, including z buffer modes or,geometry modes. The Vorpx logo loads up and has the split screen rift look and everything, but when I go to the Del menu, in the “3D construction” option, it just has “off” and I can’t click to change it. One game doesn’t even load the vorpx. Is this normal? Thanks.
