Recently i bought vorpx license and tried to play in HL2 and Mirrors Edge on my DK2 in DirectVR Mode. After some seconds textures start to jump even if you standing. I dont know how to fix this issue. My ingame fps is constantly around 74-75. Also without enabling DirectVR mode everything runs fine.
My Hardware:
OS : Windows 10 Pro Build 15063 x64
Processor : Intel Core i5-3470 3.2 Ghz
Videocard : Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070
RAM : 8GB DDR3 1600 Mhz
did you go in bioshock ini file to change the resolution to be in what is recommended for vorpx.. that helped the stuttering on my computer a lot.
C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\My Games\BioShock Infinite\XGame\Config
XUserOptions file scroll down
this is minimum requirement for vorpx for 8:9 ratio
ResolutionX=960
ResolutionY=1080
I hope it works and it should.. but 8gb ram for vr is only the minimum requirement for a lot of vr apps so haven’t tried it
I thought that 1280×1024 is the best resolution for DK2 kit, not 1080×960, so i applied it in HL2 and Mirrors Edge. 8GB is optimal choice, because only 5GB used in VR gaming. Do you have DK2 or CV1?
make sure your resolution is inversed in the file I showed you it should play better.
I use a cv 1 r9 fury and 16gb ddr4 and a 6700k
ResolutionX=960
ResolutionY=1080
or
ResolutionX=1024
ResolutionY=1280
Why it should be inverted? Vorpx showing me that optimal resolution is 1280×1024, not 1024×1280.
I set my resolution and other parameters ingame menu (HL2 and Mirrors Edge) and it works fine, except stutters.
until you actually do it you wont see a difference with your system.
if you really want to know why after you can read this it is too technical for me to explain even why but it works.
I tried this method in HL2 and Mirror’s Edge, but seems that they don’t support 8:9 aspect ratio. So stutters are here with me again.
