the original Prey is no longer hooking, i think the profile is also gone?
The profile is the same as the newer Prey since both game .exe files are named the same. So the older one doesn’t show as an extra game in the profile list.
If the game does not hook anymore, you could try to activate the alternative hooking method in the config app. Caveat: this method is not meant for general use, it’s not per se better than regular hooking. Only use it if you encounter issues with regular hooking and always try both methods.
If that does not help, disable/uninstall anything that might interfere with hooking. Most hooking issues are caused by some background program that also hooks into games. Potential examples are: virus scanners, any GPU/CPU utility, messengers, game recording/streaming software, messengers. Generally everything that can show notifications/overlays in game.
Hi Ralf,
Thanks for replying
Unfortunately those suggestions didn’t work
It still hangs at attaching to corps
Surely it’s because the original prey and prey 2018 are different engines?
I did find a workaround however
I renamed the prey.exe to stvoy.exe
It then hooks with the star Trek Voyager elite force profile
Although I now get G3d etc it’s obviously not tailered for prey
There are issues with shadows and of course no director
Sorry spell check
*attaching to vorpx
*of course no direct vr
Interesting. The shared profile shouldn’t be an issue (and never was so far) since the older Prey uses OpenGL while the newer one is Direct3D 11. I will check whther something has changed.
Thanks Ralf
Finally checked this today, the Prey [2006] part of the profile is indeed broken currently, only the 2017 version gets hooked currently. Unfortunately a profile update is not enough to fully fix it, will work again with the next vorpX release.
Many thanks Ralf
