Homepage › Forums › Game Hints and Settings › Black Mesa: How can you make it less blurry?
Hello,
I really like how Black Mesa runs on VorpX now. I just have one question. Objects at a distance (like down a hall) look fairly blurry. Is there a way to make it look less blurry? Preferably without increase the game resolution.
If you increase the game resolution then you get flickering issues. So I’d like to avoid that.
Thank you,
The resolution is really the only way to make it look crisper, it shouldn’t flicker if you set a 4:3 resolution, 1920×1440 for example should look fairly well.
If your PC does not support this resolution, check the ‘Custom Resolutions’ section in the vorpX help. It has a step-by-step guide regarding adding custom resolutions. On nVidia GPUs you can pretty much add anything, AMD unfortunately is restricted to max. your monitor resolution.
only black mesa is pixellated, on vorpx…hl2 not…
Elder Scrolls Online Epic Vorpx quality:
HTC Vive Pro2
Nvidia 3080 12G GPU
Six core AMD CPU
I have achieved really stunning results with ESO recently with Vorpx and above-listed hardware. Thanks Ralf! But I don’t see a way to produce a profile to share from in-game. If I downloaded profile, it will erase my settings right? The profiles available don’t work as well.
I get 90 FPS in most areas of the game. In some socially busy areas of the game, some glitchy dungeons and large group trials, I switch from Geometry to Z-Normal due to slowing frame rates.
I think the most important part of any profile is a huge investment in hardware. I have had VR headsets from day one, but I now have:
HTC Vive Pro2
Nvidia 3080 12G GPU
Six core AMD CPU
Best yet!

Quote from two posts above yours. Works like that for every game.

Black Mesa only allows FXAA in options. Try forcing MSAA thru your graphics driver.
