    Hey Ralf,

I’ve been playing a number of games recently in Z3D as very few games I’m currently playing have working G3D profiles (usually, like Outer Worlds, even if G3D is technically supported I have far too many lighting and/or shadows issues to make it usable).

One thing I’ve noticed is that while the Z3D provided by vorpX is often best, in some titles it’s possible to get better (even significantly better) results through SuperDepth3D. I’ve tested this on my flat-3D screen and HMD through the Virtual Desktop method (of course, it’s not really usable on the HMD as these methods are too slow/blurry). In Cyberpunk in particular it’s possible to get a Z3D solution that is incredibly close to a G3D experience (I can send you my specific SuperDepth3D settings if you wish to try them to see what I mean.) It varies a lot by title however. I’ve been using SuperDepth for something like 5 years now on and off in various titles, and if you haven’t looked at it recently it’s definitely time to look again; it’s come a very long way in that time.

It would be beneficial to be able to access a modified SuperDepth 3D mode directly from within vorpX for certain titles as an alternative to your own Z3D, if you ever want to/could implement such an integration.

I wanna try the Cyberpunk, can you share the setting?

Sure. There are a TON of settings for SuperDepth, but I’m reasonably sure these are all of the important ones:

Divergence 25: (change as you wish to create more or less depth)
View Mode: VM8 Adaptive (I don’t remember setting this)
    Depth Map Selection: DM1 Reversed
Depth Map Adjustment: 73 (this is a VERY unusual setting for this parameter as most games are aroud 7.5 or less, but Cyberpunk seems to handle the depth weirdly.)
    Weapon Profile: WP40
    Perspective Slier: -35

On my display this gives me very good depth in the distance without too many ZPD artifacts and decent near-depth with almost zero distortion or artifacts. You could try the SuperDepthVR version of the shader as well, but for some reason I seemed to get more distortion from that.

Unfortunately none of the methods of spitting this to an HMD work well; just far too slow. vorpX is vastly better performing, hence my hope that SuperDepth might someday be integrated into vorpX as an optional ZPD solution for those games it works better for.

I’ll add aptly named SBS 3D base profiles for the next update (at least if I don’t forget it again…). Currently you can use the MPC-HC (DX9), VLC (DX11) and Shadow of the Tomb Raider (also DX11) profiles as a base. Unfortunately no DX12 SBS profile currently, but that’s not a technical problem, there just happens to be none ATM.

Important caveat: whether or not that works together with another 3D-injector is hit and miss though.

BTW: The other Z3D method doesn’t work better, it just let’s you crank up the 3D so high that it converts half the image into one giant Z3D-typical glitch in the end. ;)

    Thanks,I will try that.

That sounds promising Ralf, but I think you would have to work-in Reshade compatibility if you wanted SBS mode to work with SuperDepth. You could approach Blue Sky Knight / Defender about what methods he uses and incorporate those same METHODS into vorpX if they would actually be beneficial. It’s a hit & miss thing. I started using it because it was sometimes much better than TriDef’s Power3D (ZPD) solution at producing results with minimal distortion, and in other titles it’s been much worse. There are a few titles in which it’s surprisingly close to G3D if you’re willing to play with it enough.

Although it looks like G3D is now just days away for Cyberpunk specifically, it would still be very cool to at least get ReShade compatibility. I just last weekend finally sat down and really conquered SuperDepthVR (as opposed regular version) through a new update to Virtual Desktop that provides vastly better performance. It’s still not as fast as vorpX, and of course that method doesn’t provide anything but a virtual-screen plus Z3D, but it’s one place you can really see how good SuperDepth’s Z3D output has become.

Ralf: Let me know what tool you suggest I use and I’ll record a short stereoscopic vid for you using that method, so you can see just how good Cyberpunk+Z3D through Reshade/SDVR looks. I’m still very keen on talking you into somehow integrating this as an alternative Z3D method.

If i crank up the 3D in reshade too much, it will look like a dollhouse. But a little bit more like reshades 3D, would do vorpx good. The impression that it looks more like G3D arises, and is not to be discussed away. The newer profiles since RE Village are much better in Z3D, but they are not looking like G3D.

This is my default reshade setup. Before you try to modify the settings, please try change the depth detection from reverse to normal.

Is there any documentation or post on how to use VorpX with reShade SuperDepth3D? I see tons of info on using Virtual Desttop but not VorpX Desktop.

Or maybe its not even worth trying? I have no clue how well or not well SuperDepth3D works?
