On windows startup, bitdefender suddenly shows cleaning process and then after a few minutes shows this.

The file C:\Program Files (x86)\Animation Labs\vorpX\vorpControl.exe is infected with Trojan.GenericKD.77572100 and was moved to quarantine.

Looks like most of the Vorpx icons from my desktop are gone

I uninstalled whatever files remained for now.

I’ll wait for an official response here before I try anything else.

My McAfee antivirus detected a virus on “vorpControl.exe”.
I contacted the support and they answer me this:

    Hello xxx,

    This is a false positive.

vorpX “injects” other programs which some av programs may classify as malicious behaviour without really being sure about it.

You should report this as a false positive to your av vendor so they can fix the issue.

In the meantime please exclude the vorpX program folder from scanning.

Alternatively you might want to consider switching to Windows Defender, which provides excellent protection without being as invasive as some other AV scanners. Windows Defender gets enabled automatically on Windows 10 when you uninstall redundant third party AV programs.

    Kind regards,
    The vorpX team

Obviously, I couldn’t do anything. The previous installed Vorpx had not caused any problems.

    This is a false positive.

vorpX “injects” other programs which some AV programs may classify as malicious behaviour without really being sure about it, and – most annoyingly – without telling their users that they are just taking a guess.

You should report this as a false positive to your AV vendor so they can fix their mistake.

In the meantime please exclude the vorpX program folder from scanning.

Alternatively you might want to consider switching to Windows Defender, which provides excellent protection without being as invasive as some other AV scanners. Windows Defender gets enabled automatically on Windows 10/11 when you uninstall redundant third party AV programs.

I usually make sure Microsoft whitelists new vorpX releases before uploading them, so with Windows Defender you should rarely – if ever – encounter annoying issues like this.
