Every time I open a game that isn’t on my Exclusion list, VorpX will play the Windows Narrator for the title screens. This has been happening for a while now, I don’t remember when it started but I do remember a time when VorpX didn’t do that at all and it definitely came from an update. This happens regardless of whether I’m actually running VorpX or not. I’ve already tried turning off all Narrator settings. Oddly some of the settings will respond and some won’t. Also, the Exclusion List will not find Narrator.exe even though I see it in C:\Windows\System32. One thing I haven’t tried yet is forcing the Narrator to play on speakers that aren’t plugged in, which is more of a temporary fix. I also need to look up how to get rid of it entirely but quick searches on this topic show that it won’t be easy.

    Specs:
    Win10 Pro 22H2 OS Version 19045.7291
    VorpX Version 25.1.5

    Anyone have any ideas?

So after setting the Narrator to play over speakers I do not have plugged in, I no longer hear it.

My only concern is that this is a sort of “bandaid” fix which can be easily undone by a Windows or a VorpX update, and I’d like to explore completely resolving this issue.

You can try a little trick to exclude narrator.exe by creating an empty textfile (or use any other file) and rename it to narrator.exe. Caveat: displaying file extensions in the Windows Explorer options has to be enabled, otherwise you might end up with a file named narrator.exe.txt.
