I got the original AC from Steam a while ago. When I launch it with VORPX, I get a message geometry 3D is only supported for DirectX9. I checked and I have DirectX12 installed.
So how can I get geometry 3D working with this game? Do I have to downgrade my DirectX installation?
You have to launch the game in DX9 mode. Can’t remember anymore whether that is a setting in the graphics options or whether it has to be selected in the UPlay launcher.
Short update: not sure if there is an official way to launch the game in DX9 mode from Steam, but you can do it manually by browsing to the game’s install folder and then run AssassinsCreed_Dx9.exe directly.
The easiest way to find that folder is this: right click game in Steam > Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files.
Thanks, that did the trick. It’s looking great now, awesome. VorpX is the only reason why I even buy non-VR 3D games on PC. Hard to go back to flat gaming…
