pabsParticipantHi, i was hoping to try out witcher 3 in vr during the holidays but it can’t get vorpx running, i changed PC and the new installation never finalized…. i have vorpx v25.1.4.0.
Could you help.

RalfKeymasterMight be some antivirus program feeling the need to be annoying. Windows built-in Defender works fine curently, just checked to be sure. If you happen to use something else, consider getting rid of it. Defender does the job perfectly well. No need for invasive third party antivirus programs since about a decade.
Alternatively try to disable your antivirus during the install and exclude the vorpX program folder, which per default would be C:\Propgram Files (x86)\Animation Labs\vorpX.

pabsParticipantHi Ralf, it isn’t a antivurius problem, it’s just that the installation windows freezes at the end of the installation process and never finalizes…. And if i force close it , and then try to run the vorpx Deskotp exe nothing happens

pabsParticipantIm on windows 11

RalfKeymasterPlease try the above suggestions. My guess is that your antivirus interferes with finishing the installation, e.g. starting the vorpX service.

klassik8600ParticipantHi,
I had same issue “Finishing installation” stays forever.
Read this post and it helped me.
So just for other people who will have such issue:
1. Install app, but “Finishing installation” stays.
2. Go to folder with installed Vorpx, run one of exe files to register vorpx (vorpControl.exe I think, or other, dont remember exactly)
3. Ask registration key by email, then register app.
4. Restart PC, install app the second time, all will be good.for Ralf
good that we have this workaround, but it will be better if you can fix it :) thank you
(Disabling Antivirus did not help)Jan 22, 2026 at 7:08pm #222772
HolgiBParticipantHey there,
new to vorpX and didn´t try it for now but I bought it yesterday and tried to install it under Windows 10 x64. Installer started but did not finish. I registered the program but neither tested it, nor did I install it a second time. I left the installer running for close to 2 hours but it didn’t close in the end. Can report back it things worked without installing a second time. I have installed Virtual Desktop as well for my Quest 3 but did not close the desktop streamer. Unfortunately I didn´t close the streamer. So may be it interfered with vorpX ? I do not know.

HolgiBParticipantOh yeah, and I have only M$ Bit Defender active for virus protection. Nothing else.

RalfKeymasterLooks like after a recent change the installer under certain circumstances could hang indefinitely at the end for fresh installs. An updated installer without this glitch is now online.
