Homepage › Forums › Technical Support › fps lock after config reset (cyberpunk 2077)
I installed and used VorpX for Cyberpunk 2077.
After trying around a little bit, I went to reset the config (by using the VorpX menu) so my Cyberpunk 2077 config would be the same as before using VorpX. But something is not alright. I get a hard fps-lock to 60, even if I increase the fps-lock to 144 or even disabling it completely. Before using VorpX I had around 70-80 fps. Now it’s never going to 61, it sticks exactly at 60 all time.
Can you tell me, which part of the config might not have been reset correctly or where this is coming from?
If I set the ingame fps-cap to 30, this works. But since even disabling things like RTX or quality does not change my fps to go above 60 now, some config must be invalid/corrupted. Vsync is disabled of course.
Any help is much appreciated.
To ensure a smooth experience for everyone vorpX force enables FluidSync on every game start in Cyperpunk 2077, which caps the frame rate at half the headset refresh rate. You can turn that off in the vorpX menu.
What he said, but you are gonna see a Choppyness that makes FluidSync worth it once you test with it off, I guarantee =]
My mistake, I didn’t make it clear, that the 60 fps lock exists while playing NORMAL, so without VorpX/VR. VorpX doesn’t run in the background and still, I get a fps lock to 60 fps.
How can I disable this FluidSync (which I guess is causing this) when I run games without VorpX?
That doesn’t have to do anything vorpX. vorpX doesn’t change any frame rate limit, neither in the game settings nor elsewhere.
Maybe VSync is forced in your graphics driver? Just a guess though. With vorpX that wouldn’t have an effect normally, but without vorpX it would.
Well, VorpX changes the ingame settings, that’s what the profiles are for, as far as I understood? Maybe there are some leftover changes?
Yes, but it doesn’t change any frame rate limit related settings and apart from that the pre vorpX .ini file gets restored when you restore the settings in the vorpX config app.
Hmm, it might have just been an extremely unlucky coincidence, if what this person here wrote is true:
