Minecraft is a good example of a game that a modern studio wouldn’t touch but has had the longevity and engagement that surpasses your Fallouts and your GTAs.

Indeed. Minecraft is amazing in VR with the Vivecraft mod too.

I also disagree. I had some incredible VR gaming experiences in Star Trek: Bridge Crew, Ironwolf VR, Bullets and More, Pavlov, Onward, Vivecraft, Raw Data, Climbey, The Art of Fight, Quell 4D, Warpaint, Elite, and Battlezone.

On the other hand I’ve also been having a blast playing New Vegas for 95 hours and counting using VorpX. I love both VorpX and native VR games.

I think you can and should enjoy all the options :)

I am curious. Are you playing New Vegas in Cinema / Geometry mode or in full directVR mode?

Thanks, good to know. Will look into purchasing it on Steam then.

I did notice that on Origin it also runs on Admin so I might try running vorpx as admin and seeing how that goes.

Bump, any word on Mass Effect 1 in Origin? Thanks

EDIT: While Mass effect doesn’t get detected, Dead Space (via Origin) does, and it uses Cinema / Geometry 3D Mode.

So Masss Effect on Origin is not working for me sadly :(.

I can’t find any presets for it in the Vorpx App (only for mass effect 2 and 3).

I tried launching the game from both origin, it’s shortcut , windowed, full screen, etc. The oculus app is running in the background but Mass Effect doesn’t take over like other games do, it stays with the oculus home. “Start vorpx” is running.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

While not all games are tested on all platforms, usually all platforms work. If you buy a current Ubisoft title on Steam, you still need UPlay, so in most cases there is no difference anyway. Games are usually bought directly for their actual platforms here to avoid the somewhat unnecessary extra-dependancy on Steam in these cases: EA games for Origin, Ubisoft games for Uplay.

The GOG situation is a bit different. If you are considering to buy a title on either Steam or GOG, Steam would be the safe bet in regard to vorpX. GOG games come without DRM, which means the versions sold there are often different from the ones sold on Steam. However, so far the only occurences I’m aware of where that mattered for vorpX were some older id Software titles that required different Direct VR profiles for GOG and Steam.

Nice. Good to know. Will try later today.

It seems like the “auto set settings” option (amazing feature btw) in the Vorpx Start app is finding the game on it’s own somehow? I am wondering how it’s doing that (only tried it for Steam games), since my games are installed on a separate drive? Is there a way to help guide it just in case it fails?

I think it asked me to open the game first once before (I hadn’t opened the game so all the extra libraries for directx weren’t even setup yet).

    Thanks

    Hi,

How do you apply a profile from a different game to this one? Btw did you purchase it on Uplay?

    Thanks
