Hello guys,
The below counts for custom profiles and settings only !
The number of games falling back to desktop resolution, no matter what resolution you enter ingame, is relatively high. Other games dont display
properly at higher resolutions when monitor and game differ in resolution settings and/or dont have a window option for example. To make things easier i wrote this little tool that let us start a game with a custom resolution with only one mouseclick.
Please read the “readme” first, otherwise you will not know how to use it.
I personally find this tool extremely useful when switching to a custom resolution and back after finishing playing. Testing different resolutions becomes real easy.Reqires pre configured custom resolutions in your graphics driver panel!

May not run on every PC (not tested on WIN8/10 yet)
I’m still watching the entire Blacklist TV-Show and have my gaming activity on pause, but as soon as i start gaming again, i’ll try it out.
Your efforts are appreciated! []-)
An updated version is available
working with shortcuts only now. Normal shortcuts, VorpX Shortcuts and two different type of Steam shortcuts
This is indeed useful. Thank you!
Installation is a bit easier now, no more external downloads.
Thanks! I will try this out once I get my new RiftS
Is there a list available of custom resolutions that work well?
It’s been so long since I’ve used Vorpx, that I forgotten all the tricks and tips.
For examples please read more here : https://www.vorpx.com/forums/topic/custom-resolutions-for-the-direct-vr-settings-optimizer/
Little update on this tool:
– application now remembering “my_shortcuts” folder
Tried it on Windows 10 but get an error that msvb50m.dll is missing. I could hunt down the dll somewhere but I haven’t ran any games yet where I really need this.
There is another release out which (especially useful for profile authors ;-) let you kill the game (if it hangs etc.) without opening the taskmanager by simply pressing a button.
Download here (should include all required dlls)
Little update on this app (Now working on Win10)
V 1.3.1
– Some small fixes
– Hotkey “ESC” kills game
– Hotkey “1” resets resolution to default
– Installer for dlls beeing not properly registered
