Alien Isolation not working ( also new to vorpx )

Hi,

I just recently bought the software and after some tinkering I just cant get it to work.

I have set the hardware for HTC Vive and modified the games settings ini to 100fov and 2160×1200 resolution.

What is the correct order to start softwares and game?

I have tried first opening the Vorpx, then steam VR then Alien isolation. Sometimes the game starts and sometimes I get unexpected error. But when the game starts in windowed mode the vorpx ingame menu wont pop up when I press delete. Also the game wont show on my HMD, only the backround is showing.

So what am I doing wrong here? Please advice

I7 4770k
SLI 2x 980 ti ( sli not activated )
16gb ram
WIN 10 pro 64bit.

I am currently mirroring my pc monitor to my TV in my living room. So 2 monitors attached + HMD.

If it’s not a general injection conflict with some other program on your PC, it might be related to the game not running on the GPU that the headset is connected to in your SLI setup. Please check that first. The headset needs to be connected to the same card that is used to run the game, otherwise vorpX will not work. Please also try to disconnect the second monitor to exclude any potential issue that may arise from that.

If that is not the issue, there might be an injection conflict with some other program on your PC. Many programs also hook into games and can cause such an issue. Not all of them are obvious.

Hottest candidates are: virus scanners, any sort of CPU/GPU utilities, game video recording/streaming software, chat programs and generally everything that can show notifictations in games.

Best way to trouble shoot this is to disable/uninstall every program running in the background that would not be there after a fresh, Microsoft only Windows install.

If you can’t solve the issue this way, please try to start a few games, then create a trouble shoot data archive in the vorpX config app and send me this archive. I will then check whether I can find something that you may have overlooked.

The monitors and HMD are connected to the same GPU, should I even try to remove the GPU 2 physically from my pc? I tried to do this vorpx shortcut but didnt see the shortcut anywhere?

I’ll try to disable my anti virus when I next try it. Also I’ll try with only 1 monitor + HMD.

All of the CPU GPU additional monitoring or OSD softwares were shut off at the moment when I tried VorpX. Only steam was on.

I will send the trouble shoot data after some tinkering if I dont get it to work.
