I was wondering if the fact that the TV monitor is in use has any influence in the performance of Vorpx? I have an RTX 3090, and it works very well with Vorpx + Quest 2. While I play with the Quest 2 on I can still see that the game is showing on the TV monitor. Does this mean that the 3090 is rendering the game once for every eye on the Quest 2 plus one more time for the TV monitor? Can I actually run Vorpx with the Quest 2 if no monitor is connected to the 3090? Will this save any resources on the 3090?
Displaying the video on the monitor does not affect performance. Also switching off a monitor while a game is running will often have unwanted side effects these days, e.g. the game may quit when Windows detects that the monitor isn’t available anymore.
