ParticipantI bought the ultimate edition on steam and installed it without mods. Profile hooks and it is very well playable.
Basically all works, but I want to use the controller instead of mouse and keyboard. XBOX controller already works, but has only partially the keys mapped. In VorPx menu I changed to controller and there were also options for the controller and I changed it the way it uses just the controller ( I dont remember how those options were named).
This also works, but head tracking then stopps. I can play on immersive screen and this is already playable, but I really want Full VR and head tracking. Head tracking before worked, only after I changed the controller configuration in the VorPX menu it was gone. How can I get this back?

KeymasterThe underlying issue here is that the game can’t handle simultanous mouse and gamepad input. Since vorpX per default emulates a mouse for head tracking it has to convert your gamepad input to mouse/keyboard input to deal with this issue.
There is an very easy method to improve things though in this case:
Make sure to run the DirectVR scanner as suggested by the instructions shown in the top/left corner of the game window. After a sucessful scan vorpX can directly access the game camera for head tracking and doesn’t have to use mouse emulation more. It will then automatically disable the gamepad override and you can use your gamepad natively.

ParticipantHi, Ralf!
I bought Vorpx and finally was able to use it with Quest 3, before I was using Psvr 1 and Ivry and was very difficult to hook up any game. Your work deserves nore praise from the community since it allow us a lot of games to be played, thanks!
My question is that when playing Fallout New Vegas the game zooms in automaticaly from time to time like if I was pressing left trigger it seems. Its not the zoom from pipboy or the zoom from dialogues and happens when walking or even stopped. Im using dualsense and the gamepad option in vorpx menu. Can you help me?Oct 12, 2024 at 2:52am #220480Detective_Yoshi
ParticipantIt seems that the problem was the 4050 notebook. Had to reset the profile and play with low to medium (decent) settings and that appeared to stop the zoom. Now Im discovering how to bind controls, but I will try to play with gamepad only if its possible.

ParticipantNo, it started again. Even at lower resolutions. It seems that qhen I turn direct 3d off it stops, but then the image stays all out of proportions. Really wanted to play this game in VR.

ParticipantIt’s just a guess but i think…
If the image is out of proportion, it’s probably because your FOV (field of View) is too low (narrow), so you’re zoomed in.
It seems you can adjust FOV with this mod :
https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/55085Or simply with console command :
https://steamcommunity.com/app/22380/discussions/0/522730700808149795/
(But beware the achievements in this case, if it matters for you).I suppose world Field Of view should be setted arround 120, then you lower it until it’s perfect for you.
Remember your perfect FOV value, it won’t change that much between games (except when games use vertical FOV, in which case you have to use lower value – multiply by 0.75 in 4:3 ratio).
I assume you use a 4:3 headset (Quest 3, Reverb G2 ?). Did you choose a 4:3 resolution ?
You should choose your resolution ratio and adjust zoom before adjusting FOV if you want a perfect experience.
You can raise resolution up to 2880×2160 or 3840×2880 (or more) if you want a very detailed image, but start with something low, as long as it’s 4:3.
Don’t forget using ClarityFX and raise sharpness before raising resolution (because it could be enough). If you use an Aero, Pimax or other headset, it’s not 4:3.
Remember you can bind VorpX shortcuts (edgepeek, VorpX menu, recenter).

ParticipantThere is a checkbox “Don’t Optimize game Settings” in VorpX config app.
You can use it to prevent VorpX to change resolution if needed.
I use it all the time, but I don’t play with a gamepad.Oct 13, 2024 at 5:37pm #220508Detective_Yoshi
ParticipantThank you very much sir Boblekobold!
The direct 3d seems to be the problem. It was making the game auto zoom in and out from like 30 to 30 seconds out of the proportions and thus maybe naking the hardware work more and freeze the game too.
Had to turn it off, put in game Vorpx settings zoom to 120 because by default there was a black bar below in the headset and go to ini settings ans put 120 fov like you suggested and I was lucky to find this easy step by step guide for dummies like me to change FOV since I would spend 1 week learning mods and not playingIm using Quest 3 and found other people talking about black bar too with it and Vorpx. Now I can finally start the game again and after that, Fallout 3 too, and I hope that what I learned here from you and experience from using Vorpx carries over to this game and others.
Started NV flat laat year, but then I bought a pc, quest 3 and now I cant go back to flat gaming anymore.
Have a great week, good game! -
