Maybe an issue with DotNet. Try to reinstall DotNet 3.5.

Also deleting the following folder might be worth a try: C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Oculus. This will most likely solve the issue.

The AppData directory may be hidden, you have to enable ‘Show hidden files’ in Windows Explorer to see it.

Please send a mail to support |at| vorpx com with a description of the problem. I don’t have a real solution at this point in time, but if you use a DK1, I can provide you with an option to roll back to the previous version of vorpX.

    Hi,
    had the same Problem.
I fixed it by installing the OVR Runtime (even on DK1)

The latest runtime (0.41) is indeed required, regardless of DK1 or DK2. Normally the vorpX setup should install it, but maybe that fails in some cases. The runtime can be downloaded from oculusvr.com .

I updated vorpX yesterday and encountered the same error. Here is how I worked around it. (I have a DK1)

    1) Updated to OVR 0.4.1
This resulted in vorpX to simply crash rather than give the error message.
    2) Set vorpCongig.exe and vorpControl.exe to run in compatibility mode for Windows Vista
    3) Ran my game in compatibility mode for Windows Vista
