So is SC actually a game yet? Or still the tech demo it was 8 years ago? I get ragey every time I think about this game never finishing.

Well, to be truthful the answer would be no. Lots of things have been added, though still not even the alpha that CR promised with 3.0 release. There is limited in game persistence now. Items you purchase, ships, and earned credits you earn in game do stay in your inventory. A very basic law system, mining both hand and with ships is greatly improved though no where near finished. There is fun to be had, but CIG still struggles with buggy game play. As far as being finished, my guess would be at least 5 more years.

That’s absolute insanity. My kids will end up playing a game that I was waiting for, for a decade.
