ParticipantThere’s a file called ‘game.xml’ in the root folder of Farming Simulator 2025 with a field called:
<renderer>D3D_12</renderer>Maybe changing that to ‘D3D_11’ will make it run direct X 11?

ParticipantNot sure if they are just saying that to get the best experience and do not want people tampering. I was able to force DX11 no problem’s get VorpX to work relatively well. It’s not the best experience in VR yet. It has head tracking and looks pretty good.
Go to Game in Steam then in setting and executable command type -d3d11
I imported FS22 profile and linked it to FarmingSimulator25.exe
(using version Beta of VorpX)loaded game using Quest 3 with link cable and launched game through steam. It gave me a hook error and I selected DX10/11/12 as the attempted hook process. Closed everything and tried again. It loaded up and showed VorpX menus. I then went to VorpX setting and messed around and found FULLVR as best choice and specifically the right controllers index finger button would go from flat to pretty good immersion (albeit alittle zoomed). I went to the IR menu and turned ON for head tracking. Then messed with the zoom features and clarity. For no D3D yet, it looks pretty good and definitely surpasses monitor. NOW I can use steering wheel and not have to keep grabbing mouse to change views while driving:) I am happy with it currently.
I can post a video if anyone is interested.

ParticipantHow are you checking it’s actually running in DX11 mode because FS22 never required the DX11 switch to run Z3D, only full geometry 3D required that?

ParticipantI tried to view this in MSI Afterburner when I first tried. It did not display anything related to DX. I searched Google to see how I could verify and gave up. I am now curious though. However, I did notice that using the -d3d11 command would NOT allow me to change the 3D type in settings. So, I removed the mentioned command & Vorpx will let me change the 3D type, but they all look the same no effect. What I experienced was not much depth but good wrap around view. I was likely excited to see it more than a flat screen my excitement interpreted this as it’s “nearly VR”.

ParticipantI tried the -d3d11 switch when starting the game and now the Z-depth does indeed work.

KeymasterAs far as I’m aware the DX11 option has been removed from the 2025 edition, it’s DX12 only now.

Participant@Ralf Is Vorpx any closer to supporting full geometry 3D in DX12 than when I asked about it for FS22 ? Also, is it possible to have a profile for FS25, Z3D if G3D is a long way off for DX12?

KeymasterAs long as you are here you might have noticed that – on principle and for good reason(s) – questions regarding development don’t get answered at all (or at least almost never) since many, many years. Won’t change, sorry.

ParticipantFrom what I’ve seen in the past, I understand your stance on this.
