Finally got FH6 to work. But the FPS is awful…I’m not against the possibility that it’s my hardware but I don’t know and I need advice.

Specs: Everything is up to date.
    OS: Win10 Pro 22H2 OS Version 19045.7291
    CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT
    VR: Quest 2
    VorpX Version 25.1.5
    Monitor: 1920×1080 120Hz

Without running VorpX, I can get a steady 120FPS at most Ultra settings. With VorpX, I get 10-12FPS at all settings as low as possible. I actually learned through this experience that FH6 will not load you into the game past the title screen if you can’t achieve a stable 10FPS.

I have the in-game VorpX headset sync settings set to favor FPS. Screen is at 0.30, curved both ways. I do not currently have a profile loaded for FH6.

Here is the other weird thing…whenever I go to the game’s graphics settings while using VorpX, it shows no usage for my GPU’s VRAM…

For reference, I frequently play FH4 in VorpX just fine at a stable 120FPS with most ultra settings.

What should I do to fix this? Thank you to anyone who comes to help.

So I was thinking about it some more last night…game’s graphics window doesn’t show any VRAM usage…my headset is plugged in to the mobo by USB-C…and also whenever I run VorpX, my monitor goes dark and sleeps, and won’t turn back on again until I stop running VorpX.

I think a possible cause is that because ultimately my Quest 2 is plugged in to my mobo and that running VorpX turns off the monitor, that effectively the game is running on the mobo’s integrated graphics…

    So two options:

    1. Connect the Quest via wifi. This will tell me if I’m right.

    2. Get a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter for my Link Cable. My XFX Merc Radeon RX 6800 XT Has 3 DisplayPort and 1 HDMI port but no USB-C. A quick Google search on this adapter shows that I need to be particular about choosing the right one as most are unidirectional and I’m sure I’ll need a bidirectional one for this setup…but I still don’t know if this will work at all.

Thinking more about this (have yet to find the time to troubleshoot)…

The Quest 2 is connected via USB-C to the PC using the only USB-C port I have which is on the mobo…

FH6 graphics menu is showing no VRAM usage when I use VorpX.

My only monitor goes dark like it’s going to sleep when I run VorpX (the light turns orange which is what happens when it sleeps)…

Maybe this means that, for some reason, using VorpX to play FH6 makes the game think I don’t have a GPU? In which case perhaps there is a setting somewhere either in VorpX or in FH6 that forces either app to use the GPU that would resolve this issue.

Sounds like maybe vorpX‘s virtual monitor kicks in. Should per default only happen when you use the vorpX desktop viewer, but to make sure that‘s not the issue, you can try to disable it entirely in the config app on the Virtual Display page.
