half life 2 and black mesa crosshair awkward

Is there something I can do about the crosshair to make it less awkward to use? I find it too hard to aim without it but too cumbersome to use.

If it were just a small point on the screen it wouldn’t be too distracting and I could use it comfortably I think. The vorpx cursor thing is too big and blatant to be a viable substitute. :(

I can’t recall the exact mod but look up HL2 crosshairs and you’ll get a few options to pick. I used just a dot. You can also set up a UI hack in the ini that allows you to set up key presses to toggle hud. So if you combo those with your aim button and get a toggle effect when aiming.

I think the replacement dot crosshair I found before was too small but I’ll look again.
Also, my problem isn’t just with being zoomed in only but shooting normally.
