ingame menu question

I’m trying to figure out how to cancel ingame menu changes. The buttons I see are:
DEFAULT
LAST SAVED
SAVE
OK
I see no CANCEL button. I launch the menu using left+right grip. My controller joysticks tend to get wonky over time and occasionally make unintended changes for me. I’m not always sure what they did, so CANCEL is what I’m looking for (and then go clean the joysticks and/or adjust sensitivity settings). I initially assumed that just closing the menu with left+right grip would cancel any changes but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Is there a way to cancel?

Also, changes seem to become permanent, not just for the current game session. Is there no distinction between the two?

I could also use some clarification as to the effect of the buttons that are there. Here are the assumptions I initially made about these, which are clearly not correct:

DEFAULT – returns everything to the DEFAULT VorpX profile for this game, for all sessions.
LAST SAVED – returns everything to the settings I last saved.
SAVE – save the current settings for this and future sessions
OK – save the current settings for this session only

If it makes any difference I’m currently playing FO3 with Quest 2 headset and controllers.

The buttons do what you think they do. Closing the menu with left+right grip saves the settings to be in line with how many modern games handle their settings menus, which often apply changes immediately without the need for confirmation.
