I just purchased vorpX and used the link in email to download the installer. Unfortunately, the installer is giving me this every time I try to run it:

    Unhelpful error message

A rather unhelpful error message, no?

I have everything the installer says was required, I disabled all software that might be interfering with the install, and this still happens every time. Something of an anticlimax considering that I was looking forwards to trying out more games in VR all day at work.

Please check whether installing the VC 2013 runtimes manually fixes this.

Same thing happened again after reinstalling the runtimes.

That’s odd. The only things that are potentially downloaded are the VC runtimes and the DotNet framework 3.5. But the latter is preinstalled on Windows 7. Please check whether your Windows 7 has all the latest updates and check the DotNet status with the tool below:

That seems to have done the trick, thanks. The Microsoft tool said it couldn’t figure out what was wrong, but after running it, the vorpX installer was successful, so I’m not complaining. Thanks for the help!
