    This value, which is stored in SkyrimPrefs, is forced to 1024 after launching Skyrim with VorpX. It means that when you see Skyrim main menu, SkyrimPrefs.ini is already overwritten.
    1024 is too low.
    That is a problem.

    That is done on purpose since the last vorpX version because it has a profound effect on performance. I’ll think about removing it again.
