It seems to be detecting a trojan with a new update to Windows
    Defender.

This is the link to the trojan

    https://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/threat/encyclopedia/entry.aspx?name=Trojan%3aWin32%2fPeals.A!cl&threatid=2147690472&enterprise=0

thinking this is some sort of a false alarm.

No issue with the latest Defender definitions (1.233.1524.0) here. Issues like this are false positives though.

vorpX “injects” other programs which some av programs may classify as malicious behaviour without really being sure about it.

You should report this as a false positive to your av vendor so they can fix the issue.

In the meantime please exclude the vorpX program folder (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Animation Labs\vorpX) from scanning.

Sorry for the inconvenience. This is as annoying for us as it is for you.
