Various apps will not have a working moudecursor if they are started with vorpx running. Examples: google earth, vmware. Known issue? solution? workaround=exit vorpx.

You can either exit vorpX, pause the watcher or add the apps in question to the exclude list in the vorpX config app.

Since Windows 8 a lot more apps trigger vorpX than before due to the way the graphics system works in Win8+, in some cases that can cause the cursor glitch you saw. Adding these apps to the exclude list prevents that.

I would generally suggest to pause or exit vorpX though unless you intend to use it.
