    Hi Folks!

I tried to find a opensimulator (open-source Second Life alternative) viewer with VR (VIVE preferred) support, but it looks like there is not much interest about that in there communities….

Did someone had some success with the Opensim Viewers and VORPX?
As far as I know they’re mostly OpenGL, so I guess they’re not supported…

    Best regards,

There has been some recent (backwards) movement on this with Linden Lab withdrawing their latest Oculus viewer… which did not work well at all, and was not as good as their earlier viewer for DK2/Oculus Runtimes before the CV1/1.3 versions. It did not support the Vive though anyway. See this blog post for a review and various links to the information sources…

I was also wondering if anyone had 3experimented to see if VorpX will work with Second Life/OpenSim viewers like Firestorm? Is it even possible Ralf? Or would that be a no go?

CtrlAltStudio has been updated to work with Oculus SDK 1.5.0 onwards and is reported to work with the HTC Vive using the LibreVR/Revive compatibility tools.

Also, I have tested VorpX to get a 3D #VR view on Oculus in Second Life and OpenSim with a standard 2D viewer such as Firestorm, and when you enter the 1st person view it does show in 3D/VR mode via VorpX.

In my DK2, it appears to need Image Size 0.40 for the logion screen and 2D screen style view and Image Size 0.60 when you are in the 3D/VR view (to get better immersion without grey borders being in the field of view).
