Hello.
First off, I would like to mention that I already looked across every thread that I could find here, and found zero solutions for my issue short of reinstalling my entire OS (Something which I find ridiculous for playing one game with a program I paid a fair bit of money for).
The issue I am talking about is that the 32 bit version of Skyrim (with SKSE) crashes every time upon loading a world.
For some reason, it doesn’t crash immediately, but rather, a short bit after everything loads, and sometimes even has time to display what has loaded for a brief moment before it unfortunately crashes.
I have confirmed that this is a vorpX issue, as it happens with an almost vanilla (SKSE only) setup.
I have tried everything I can think of, and have come up empty handed.
Perhaps Ralf or someone else can shed some light on the subject? I’m truly at my wit’s end with figuring this out.
Mar 3, 2019 at 10:36am #179940RalfKeymasterSounds like it could be a memory issue. 32bit programs can only address so much RAM on both your CPU and GPU. With RAM consuming mods (e.g. HD texture packs) or even just certain .ini tweaks (e.g. uGridsToLoad) you may push the game over the edge with vorpX in the mix since it requires a considerable amount of CPU and GPU RAM on its own.
First try to remove obvious candidates like huge texture/model packs. Many texture packs have a less resource heavy version, so with some luck you don’t even have to remove one you are particularly fond of completely but can instead switch to a lower res version. If that does not help, the best way is to start from scratch in regard to mods and then just add the ones that you consider absolutely indispensable.
Also try to delete/rename your SkyrimPrefs.ini in case you made changes to it before. The game will create a new one when you start it next time.
If you experience this with just SKSE and no mods installed, please also try without SKSE.

I’ve disabled the official high-res textures, no change.
I have also deleted SkyrimPrefs.ini and it still refuses to not crash.
Probably should add that I’m using Mod Organizer, though I still encounter the crashes from the official launcher.
I’m half-asleep while writing this, please forgive me for anything I might be leaving out (but I don’t think I am).

I also forgot to mention in my previous two posts that I tried it without SKSE, it works fine. However, considering SKSE is required for almost all modding of any capacity in Skyrim, I think the compatibility issue ought to be looked at.
Unless of course I’m missing something that could get it working. In which case, please enlighten me.
Mar 4, 2019 at 5:03am #179955RalfKeymasterThe only thing I can recommend in addition to everything above is trying with a completely fresh install. Skyrim is still is being played quite regularly and was the most used vorpX game for a long time before the VR version was released. Since others have no problems with SKSE, it’s safe to assume that something about your specific setup causes your issue. A completely fresh install (also without any tools like ModOrganizer) might help you to identify the issue.
In general you should be aware that everything that also hooks into games in addition to vorpX is a potential source of problems. So always try games completely unmodded if you encounter issues with mods.
Mar 4, 2019 at 8:20am #179958GreenGhost115ParticipantOnce again, I have already tried a fresh install.
To clarify, I renamed the root Skyrim folder, then verified my game files through Steam, which redownloaded the entire game from Steam.
I ran the game before making my initial post, found it didn’t crash. Added SKSE, ran through it, crash on finishing loading.
I honestly don’t know what else I can do at this point.
Mar 4, 2019 at 8:47am #179959RalfKeymasterMaybe it’s some additional software on your PC that causes your machine to behave different than others. Check for the usual suspects in that regard. AV programs, GPU/CPU utilities, chat programs, game streaming/recording apps, messengers etc.
Starting a new game might also be worth a shot if you did not try that before.
I can’t really suggest anything specific since this obviously is not a general issue but something related to your setup. if you can’t solve your SKSE problem, all I can suggest is playing without mods that require SKSE.
BTW: You can never rely on vorpX working with things like SKSE (although it should normally).
