I’m having a lot of trouble with Skyrim on my GTX 970. I did find playable settings and am having a blast but everything is on low. I would love to play on ultra and add some mods but my GTX 970 isn’t cutting it. I want to upgrade my Video Card so I can crank up the settings. If my card should be able to do this I’d love to know but I’m guessing I just need to upgrade. So what card should do it? I was going to get a 1070 but if that’s not enough or overkill I have no idea. I’d rather not spend a lot on a 1080 but if I need a 1080 I will get one. Does anyone know a card that can do it?

The GPU isn’t the problem, skyrim is heavily cpu bound.
You can play on ultra, just turn shadows on low.

Other than that, a better cpu and heavy overclocking.

WOW!!! What a difference! Thank you so much. This little piece of info should be plastered on vorpx somewhere everyone will see it because I didn’t see it and I’ve had VorpX for a month now and had been playing on low the whole time. You may have just saved me $600 bucks! *air hug*
