I’ve lost count of the number of times the Vorpx watcher has tried attaching itself to non-game programs, often leading to things crashing in the process. Sometimes it’s because I forget to immediately disable it when Vorpx first turns on, but sometimes it actually seems to un-pause itself (that just happened earlier and it crashed my teams conversation).

Since there doesn’t appear to be an option to have it off by default, I was wondering if that could be added at some point? I like keeping Vorpx on because I use desktop viewer regularly, but it’s rare I need the watcher to attach itself to anything.

Anyway, just thought I’d put the idea out there. Thanks for reading.

You can add programs to the exclude list in the config app.

If an app doesn’t hook fully, you can do that comfortably from the trouble shoot dialog that the ‘Attaching to…’ hint morphs into after a while.

If an app actually uses DirectX and thus hooks fully, the easiest way is launching it with the watcher paused and then add it via the ‘Add Process’-button in the config app on the ‘Excluded Programs’-page. If you know where it is installed, you can alternatively use the ‘Add File’-button instead and browse to the .exe in question.

Default Windows apps and Office folders where Teams normally is installed get auto excluded completely though. Maybe they differ on your machine.
