Rivas10ParticipantI wonder if there´s a way to play The Witcher 3 old gen in newer Vorpx version, to have benefit of more flawless of newer versions and gesture controls. Since 24.0, vorpx it´s locked for new gen version, which in my opinion is much worse. The old gen profile is better, with a good (but not perfect) G3D, if some reflections and shadows isssues, but in general the sense of presence in scene is very good. Anyone discovered a workaround to avoid 25.1.5 or other newer versions to bypass new gen detection? I just renamed the main The Witcher 3 dx11 .exe and connected with a custom profile based on cloud profiles of the old gen versions and it worked, but since I use mods (First person mod), they don´t work in this way.
Here a video of me playing recently with Vorpx and some mods to make more VR friendly:

RalfKeymasterThe current vorpX version has flawless G3D with both DX11 and DX12 using the latest game version. Just make sure that the 3D-method stays at its default (DirectVR). Caveat: camera mods may interfere.

Rivas10ParticipantYeah, I know, I tried, but the 3D didn´t work with first person camera when I tried after merged mods files, which for me is a no go. I had issues with smoothness with headtracking too and definitelly its not my hardware fault (5090, 32gb ram and 9800X3d here, tried with multiples resolutions).

RalfKeymasterCamera mods may indeed interfere with how DirectVR 3D works. No way around that except removing the offending mod.

For me I only get Z-normal or adaptive options and depth only works on DX11 mode, tried disabling mods and resetting vorpx profile. I believe connection mod fails on dx12, is it necessary for directvr or is it just for resolution setting?

RalfKeymasterYep, no DirectVR 3D without the connection mod. vorpX needs to communicate with the game. That’s also why camera mods almost certainly will interfere.

LaserParticipantYeah got it working now thank you. Here are my observations on dx11/dx12 on next gen version.
DX12
Only directvr works, with z-normal/adaptive there is no depth. And for me the depth (in directvr) is “off”, close up objects like Geralt have too much separation.DX11
Z-normal works great, apart from usual ghosting effects.
Directvr looks fantastic, you can even crank up the 3D-strength if you want extra depth. I generally dislike afr modes because it doesn´t feel smooth but in 120hz mode I get enough frames to make DX11 with directvr my favourite to use.Jun 14, 2026 at 5:11am #223250
LaserParticipantFew more things to know.
Disable clarity fx, at least for me it causes moire like effect on the picture. (DX11 in directvr)
Vorpx warns about using camera mods but Gervant first person seems to work without issues with vorpx -
