conman588ParticipantHi folks, I am playing TW3 Old Gen DX11 with Gervant First Person mod and VorpX 21.3.5. in G3D. In general everything works very nicely and performance is fine too. Just one thing that is driving me crazy is that the shadows are flickering like crazy, no matter which G3D shadow treatment setting I use (excl. off of course but that is not really an option as it looks terrible). The best one seems to be no G3D or inverted but still massive flicker on many of the shadows, any ideas what could be causing this? I don’t mean the slight artifacts with shadows not displaying correctly in 3D, I can live with that no problem. This is an actual flicker of shadows turning on and off rapidly all the time.

conman588ParticipantI figured it out. This issue is actually a matter of the mods near field camera settings. For some reason the artifacts are much much more severe in VR i.e. faster, like a flicker and they are also much closer than in pancake. In any case increasing the near field camera to 0.04 already eliminated most of the flickers without any visible downside so far. Something perhaps to be aware of when playing with the GFP mod. On a side note and as matter of troubleshooting I tried using next gen and the beta of VorpX and can only say that old-gen is so so much better in every way with VorpX. Only thing it lacks is a working y axis lock for the mouse. Maybe Ralf you want to show it some love at some point :) Other than that I am 100% sure this is the best possible way to play TW3 in 1st person in VR and performance is pretty decent on my 3080 too.

Rivas10ParticipantNice. I´m playing it now with same FP mod and with 1.32v. This game is awesome and in VR is much better. The flickers annoyied me aswell, but I tested now with your tweaks and it´s much better now. Right now I´m only at lvl 10, but already got used to combat in first person in VR, that is much more challenging but much more immersive.
Here is a little gameplay I recorded some days ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVROEjc5Vj4Mar 18, 2026 at 3:14am #222947
