Vorpx is a great program as it does the best job at what it’s designed to do, so no fault there, but playing non-VR games in VR seems to be overrated, IMO. Either that or I’m clearly missing something vital about what software like this is capable of?

On the HTC Vive our eyes peer through circle lenses while the image being fed to them is a rectangle. This means that when we zoom into the image whatever is in the corners is cropped out – commonly in-game HUD.

Another issue is limited FOV. GTA V has 3rd party software created by the community that allows us to alter the FOV to however we’d like – including vertical FOV. But we don’t have this luxury in other games and this really hinders this non-VR to VR experience. Again, due to the fact that much of the image is being cropped out since it isn’t the same shape as our lenses.

Does any software or settings exist that helps alleviate these issues?

Most games can be modded to fit the vr fov either by using game optimizer in vorpx config, modding the game config files manually or using 3rd party software like flawless widescreen or widescreen fixer. After that you can change various zoom/fov settings inside vorpx, if there is no solution after that I prefer playing the game in virtual cinema mode, then there is no hud/fov issues.

Thank you for the tip! I will absolutely give it a try a bit later. :)
