Those who cannot open VorpX configuration!

Check that you have this program (.exe) on folder where you installed VorpX Example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Animation Labs\vorpX\vorpControl.exe (default path)

vorpControl.exe file is blacklisted on many virus removal programs and gets removed imidietly in installation as fault positive! (some firewalls or virus scanners wont even inform about virus removal)

vorpControl.exe is reported as very dangerous program because it “hooks” to other programs and that is very alarming and dangerous behavior.

Like mentioned in mail that I received from VorpX
“Sorry for the inconvenience. This is as annoying for us as it is for you.
It’s a false positive. Unfortunately your AV programs apparently is one of those that fail to inform their users when it is just taking a guess. vorpX “injects” other programs which some av programs may classify as malicious behaviour per se, without really being sure about it.”

So If you get your vorpControl.exe removed by virus removal program please inform in this thread what virus removal program are you using.

Also inform if Some reason your VorpX_Websetup.exe fails…
That is also usually caused by False Virus definition in installer :/

Hi,

I was trying to get Dying Light to work with Vorpx and came across this thread, I am using Avira (latest free edition) and it has deleted VorpControl.exe :(

EDIT: Nope, must have ‘skipped’ past it ! it IS there but just wont open when clicking on it! (right click, configure vorpx) in system tray :(

Ignore me, Web installer fixed it :P

Still cant get it on my rift though! Tried editing the video file, renaming exe to UDK.exe or DXHRDC.exe..either loads up on my monitor fine (not rift at all) or loads up then crashes the game :(

Video settings file keeps getting over written (did make read only !) and am not sure what to put in this (!Monitor(i) // -1 primary monitor) I currently have My Titan as Primary card with rift attached to that (no SLI) Any ideas please people? Thanks :)

Partial success!
I now have the switcher working HMD comes on in extended mode but the game still loads up and displays on the monitor and not rift/HMD :(
I can drag the ‘game screen’ on to my rift display but the image is still as if ‘one eye’/monitor view and now two eyes/rift view…

prob till talking to myself here (lol) but I finally got it working :D
Funny thing is I cant explain how! Was a mixture of using the switcher and swapping files around. Now if only I could get the view right! Cant see the mini map and everything looks flat/WAY too close!… on we go :P

ok, finally….all i need now is advice/tips from other users on how to reposition the HUD if anyone knows please? :D

Did you read the Essential Game Hints guide in the help? It explains all options you have in regard to field of view (“too close”). What can be done depends on the game.

HUD: in some games the HUD can be scaled (image page of the vorpX ingame menu). If that isn’t available, EdgePeek will help (middle mouse button).

Do yourself a favour and read the help guides. Really pays off.

Hi Rafl, Many thanks for the reply :)
I will try a few of those tips you mentioned (especially the edge peak / HUD issue, Thank you) I am sorry if I appear lazy when it comes to reading the recomended info, this is not the case. I have a condiction called Scotopic sensativity (a form of Dyslexia) which makes reading quite a task and so try to work things out rather than scrolling through pages of txt. The opposite of the recomended solution I know but in some situations it can be very hard. Anyway, Thank you for your very helpful reply my friend :)

Please make sure that you have the .Net runtime 3.5 installed. Windoes 10 should complain if it isn’t, but maybe that failed.

If you already have it installed, please use the tool below to check whether maybe your Dot Net install is corrupt:
