VCRUNTIME140.dll and MSVCP140.dll not found

I just tried to run start and vorpx desktop and I get these 2 errors:

“The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP140.dll was not found” and
“The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140.dll was not found”

I searched for these 2 files and found that they were both in the system32 folder, so i’m not sure what the issue is. any help?

You may have only the 64bit version installed, vorpX also requires the 32bit version. Normally the vorpX installer should have taken care of that. If that failed for some reason, you can install the 32bit VC 2015 runtime manually.

I had the same issue, but in my case it were the total of about 8 older vc_redist-installations i forgot did not just “update” but “installed on top of each others”, obviously causing a conflict here, so i de-installed it (for about 8 times, LOL) and cleaned my system of any of those installations, afterwards installing vorpX once again and then it worked!
