Hi. Just purchased and installed VorpX on Win 8.1. But when I’m trying to start the program via “Start vorpX” the process starts for a couple of seconds and then it is directly closed without any warning. So I can’t get VorpX to run.
Reinstalled it three times. Still not working.

The configuration tool works fine when launched via “Configure vorpX”.
    Any idea?

At the moment VorpX is totally useless to me :(

All I can say is just double check everything and make sure everything is up to date. Go over the start up checklist for vorpX and check out the guides. Also check out your Rift set up instructions to make sure its all set up and ready to go. Could be an antivirus of some kind or some type of other program trying to activate at the same time. Also if you cant solve it post your system specs and what game your trying out.

I tried deactivating my antivirus. Does not help.

I’m not able to start any game with vorpx because the process kills itself after a few seconds. For a short moment I can see it in the task manager.

Went through all set up instructions, but nothing is changing.

Hmmm… sounds like maybe another program is trying to boot at the same time and beats out vorpX. I know some video card set up/customization software can mess with hooking. Maybe it’s that. I had an issue with nvidea experience crashing everything back a while ago.

I’m running a R9 290 with the newest catalyst beta 15.4. Also I killed nearly every process from AMD etc. manually. But no luck at all …

If you didn’t do that already reinstalling the Oculus runtime may be worth a try. And vorpX again after a full uninstall and reboot (important!).

If you dare to try that, uninstalling your av program completely may something else to try. Some av programs aren’t really deactivated if they are deactivated (hope that makes sense).

Personally I would recommend Microsoft Security Essentials (Win7), respectively Windows Defender (Win8). Free, and not a single issue with those so far.

If you can’t solve the issue, please send a mail to support |at| vorpx com for individual trouble shooting. May take a day or two until you hear back.
