Won’t always hook to games

I tried to follow this guide to play slime rancher. https://www.vorpx.com/forums/topic/struggling-with-silme-rancher/

But when I run the game with VorpX on it says VorpX is trying to attach, but it only runs on the desktop (I’m in steam home) and then it says “this takes a long time” and offers to close the program or add it to exceptions.

This is also a problem when I try to use the cloud profile for Civilization 5

Are you using antivirus? If so, that tends to cause major problems with “hooking.” Depending on what antivirus you have, you may be able to provide an exception for VorpX.

I’m using Kapersky but turning it off doesn’t change anything.
