sweviver briefly mentions testing with vorpx but requiring tweaking to get the games to work. i think he is planning a more in-depth review of pimax with vorpx but he sounds more promising.

it will likely need a beast of a gpu.

Damn. Had to reinstall vorpx and the XCOM profile doesn’t work with STO anymore to get z-normal/z-adaptive. Don’t know if it’s because of a cryptic update. Can’t find any other profile using the cryptic engine. Anyone with suggestions/help?

I know, right! Sooo good! I also get the error at the start, click through it and everything fine on the vive.

Agreed, the profile needs work. The 3D is stronger in Z-normal and I’m not sure choosing a different profile would be better or even which profile would be best (I do know the Diablo 3 profile did not work).

Hopefully someone smarter than me can figure it out, cause I get too caught up playing the game on the Vive!

Copied the xcom profile and hooked to star trek online.exe, I believe. Logged in through arc/cryptic and then vorpx hooks into STO when in game.

In game vorpx settings then z-adapt or z-norm was available.

Update #2: first person (sort of; actually over shoulder) with head tracking if you press ‘b’!!! In the chat window set FOV to 120 (/setregionfov ground 120). Mouse sensitivity to 1.0. Head tracking sensitivity to between 0.45-0.5 eliminates most warping (looking up/down camera shift still a problem). But it totally works!

Update: windowed mode, 1920 x 1440, and now z-adaptive is available! Vorpx is so good!
