Skyrim SE???
Not sure if you set it already but if not try it with 1920×1440 resolution set manually in Skyrim.prefs and set the Fov 110 110 in game using the console.
This was the main reason to buy it and works really good.
I have adjusted the size of everything a little 😛
Also, do you see any performance loss while playing more than…let´s say an hour?
I’m also impressed with the head tracking with the new DirectVR implementation. My only problem is that the FOV scan always fails, and when I try to set a FOV of 110 in the console the view initially changes, but when I close the console the FOV goes back to what it was before…
So far it’s a huge improvement though, this, FAllout 4 and Bioshock Infinite are a joy to play in VR now. Just not sure why I can’t get the original Bioshock Remastered edition working…

I want to play Skyrim with my HTC Vive, but I’m not sure if my computer can run it. My graphics card is an AMD R9 380 (NVidia equivalent is 860). I would hate to buy VorpX and find the only game I want to play with VorpX has performance issues so I can’t. Is there any way for me to know if playing Skyrim in VR is feasible for my hardware before buying VorpX?
BTW, it’s also specific to Skyrim: I tried L4D2 in VorpX, and that still works fine.
I got a new machine last fall and while many games got a nice VR boost in FPS skyrim (original) was still a little choppier than expected. After almost 2 months away from my current Skyrim game i boot up Vorpx, notice the update, and start running Skyrim. Immediately I noticed the much clearer UI rendering.
Not knowing the implications of Direct VR I started the scan and after it finished I was dumbfounded at the buttery smooth head tracking…. Thank you Ralf!
OK, this is weird.
I’ve been running Skyrim in VorpX for months. But, in the last couple of days, it’s stopped working. When I start the game, I get the ‘TESV.exe is taking a while to start up’ message, then a brief flash of black and a brief clip of sound, then Skyrim minimizes itself and stops working.
Works perfectly in 2D, but as soon as I start VorpX, it wants to minimize on startup. Happens whether I run with or without mods.
Any ideas what might be causing this all of a sudden? Could my VorpX settings be screwed up somehow, so VorpX shuts the game down? I tried the ‘reset to defaults’ from VorpX Control, but it made no difference.
About all I can think of is to delete Skyrim and get Steam to install it again. But nothing should have changed there in a long time.
hey Ralf, just wanted you to know that i can pull up the config screen now that i got 4.6.2 .net installed. thank you for your help… now i just need time to play skyrim, thanks.
Please Developer.
Can you detail in the supported list of games, which method is currently working for gameplay on each game?
Also if Headtracking is working or not.
For Example:
Skyrim SE: DirectVR. Geometry 3D. Headtracking.
Mirror´s Edge: Geometry 3D. Headtracking
As today, is getting difficult to understand how the game is actually supported.
Thank you
i tried factory default in the config and it fix the blurry screen and rotation. The thing is that you should try to play skyrim with a controller this way. By default you can only walk super slow, edge peek override crouching button, switching tab in the menu does not work and on and on.
by default its full and it block my rotation in Fallout 4. I checked for skyrim and every option block my rotation and skyrim is still very blurry. :(
im using skyrim SE in 1080P because i have FPS to spare.
You can run games at any resolution with vorpX. The default recommendation of 1280×1024 is a compromise between qualilty and performance. Try 1600×1200 or 1920×1440 for better image quality at the expense of performance.
If you have the original DX9 Skyrim, which is the recommended version, you can alternatively use the “Internal Resolution Upscale” in the vorpX ingame menu (image page).
and also i have no mods installed whith skyrim last version all fresh install with a new game.
Please make sure that you are using the latest Skyrim version and if that is already the case, please try without any mods, especially mods that affect the camera may have an effect.
Also make sure to run the scan after the tutorial section at the beginning (Helgen). There were some reports earlier that it doesn’t work there.
Apart from that: there always is a certain risk of failure in general with Direct VR scans, for more details on this please read the hint text that is shown during each scan.
If the FOV scan fails in Skyrim, you can easily change it manually ny typing fov 111 (correct value for the default vorpX settings) into the Skyrim console. The console can be opened with the tilde key (the one above TAB).
When playing both direct VR of skyrim and bioshock infinite, rotating my head only move a static image left and right up and down. Its also very blurry in skyrim.
