ParticipantAnyone else getting odd head tracking in Fallout 4 using G3D? The head roll and rotations arent working at all for me.

KeymasterSounds like either the head tracker got not initialized (try a reboot), or you maybe accidentally disabled head tracking in the vorpX config app.

ParticipantThanks for the reply Ralf.
Ah I could have been a little more informative in my OP (it was late last night when the update dropped and didnt have a clear head) as the head tracking is on but isnt working in the sense that when I have the pip boy up the head tracking is reversed (I look left camera pans right, I look up and the camera rolls down) and when Im in game in normal view the head tracking isnt reversed its going to right way, but it looks like there’s a doubling of the input and when I look the camera goes twice as far as Im looking.
Ive hada a play around with the settings but I havent found any solution as yet. The cinema view works fine with no head tracking issues whatsoever. The above is also true if I pick z adaptive or adaptive (which were wroking fine when I was using 0.8 before)

ParticipantHmm…just checked GTA V and getting the exact same thing. Uh oh..

Participantsame for me.
Cinema view works fine, but the game is otherwise zoomed way in for geometry mode and z-buffer.
tried ~fov 120, but when I exit the console is zooms back in againApr 10, 2016 at 1:54pm #100551Tony Spaniels
ParticipantAnd the head tracking? How is it for you?
Apr 10, 2016 at 1:54pm #100552Ralf
KeymasterDid you apply the Game Optimizer (config app) settings for the game? The Game Optimizer writes the FOV to the .ini of the game, which should solve your problem.

ParticipantYes Ive applied the game optimizer and its still the same. Pip boy mode head tracking is reversed, normal view head tracking is doubled.
A thought has just occurred to me ..I remember when I originally set up fallout 4 with vorpx the head tracking in the up and down axis was 50% what it needed to be and I changed some settings in the .ini file iirc. Could this be causing this?

KeymasterThat’s also taken care of by the optimizer. Sounds like for some reason the settings aren’t applied correctly for whatever reason.
I would highly recomment to use EdgePeek (click mousewheel) mode for the PipBoy BTW. This also solves a glitches with using the PipBoy with the mouse.
The according values in the Fallout4.ini should look like below after applying the Optimizer.
fMouseHeadingXScale=.021
fMouseHeadingYScale=.042Apr 10, 2016 at 2:11pm #100559Tony Spaniels
ParticipantAh no it cant be, GTA V has the same issue still, after using the game optimizer. Bugger :/

fMouseHeadingYScale=.042Yep,just checked and that’s what the settings are at.

KeymasterDo you maybe by any chance have accidentally inverted head tracking in vorpX, or are playing with the mouse y-axis inverted?

silly me I forgot to do that (and I’ve been using vorpx since DK1 days).
OK FOV fixed, but something is still messed up with the headtracking. It’s hard to describe, but when I look right or left I the screen peels away from my view and I see off the edge of the screen; almost like it’s in cinema mode.Apr 10, 2016 at 2:24pm #100563Tony Spaniels
ParticipantNo I didnt change any settings in vorpx config since the update to 16.1.1, except to use the game optimizer. The weird thing is the headtracking works fine if I go into edge peek mode, its only when I go back out of edge peek that I get issues. And more confusingly if it was a setting then why would it be inverted one way (pip boy view) and correct orientation but doubled values the other way (normal view) ? Doesnt add up.
Also there wasnt this head tracking issue with 0.8. I was using the runtime switcher up until yesterday night, at which point once 16.1.1 dropped I uninstalled it and all the oculus runtimes in a clean wipe, and reinstalled runtime 1.3 so its a fresh install.

ParticipantI forgot to say I’m using a DK2.
