My SteamVR headset has combined display resolution of 2880×1440. I want to utilize it fully in VorpX. How do I do that?

I don’t want to use generic headset, because then I don’t get head tracking option (in dropdown menu only choice is none)

    HMD is 3Glasses S1.

There is a “Custom Resolutions” section in the vorpX help explaining in detail which resolutions to add and how to do that.

That section is also mirrored here in the forum as a sticky thread.

Does it also reflect to actual resolution of headset if headset supports it? or will it downscale it to SteamVR default resolution even if my headset supports higher?

    Thank you for answering this.

Games can run at any resolution with vorpX, that is not directly linked to your actual headset resolution. The resolutions that are listed in the help work good with vorpX in any headset.

Thanks. I’ll work more to get it to function properly.

If you can’t add the custom resoutions, vorpX will still work fine. Adding them is a purely optional step to enhance the experience.

And one more question. What if my headset resolution is highter than my desktop resolution. Does it make stuff problematic?

If you have an nVidia GPU, your desktop resolution doesn’t matter, with AMD you are limited to the desktop resolution.

The “Custom Resolution” section in the vorpX help that I mentioned above answers your questions.
