    The ONLY thing they have in common is the name.

    Mafia was made in 2002 using the LS3D engine.
    Mafia 3 is a modern game made with what is most likely a proprietary engine.

    They are a world of difference apart.

    I just realized that this happens to *all* games through VorpX, not only Source games.

    I had the same problem. It seems to be related to the fact that Vorpx wants to close programs that might interfere with the installation process but can’t successfully do it, thus rolling back the update.

    Strangely enough, it seemed that Google Chrome was the culprit. I manually closed it through the task bar, and that seemed to do it.

    Alternatively, just using the installer and installing Vorpx again seems to work too.
