Hehe, never mind, I just knew the email would arrive as soon as I posted here :)
morsifyParticipantI must admit, I’m a bit reluctant to buy it to try it in vr – of all the x games, they decided to convert the one with the worst review ratings? I’d have been tempted if it was X3 – Terran Conflict.
morsifyParticipantUnderstood, thanks again Ralph.
In relation to Legend of Grimrock, the head movement is locked to the right mouse button, so full vr actually works (!) when the right mouse is held down.Having said that, the profile as it stands (defaulting to immersive mode), really is immersive in the dungeon, and I can certainly see me playing through this game again using vorpx in eithe rof these modes.
I feel I will gradually learn a bit more about each game’s settings as I go along, but I certainly take what you say that the profiles are a pretty solid indication of the best setting.
Thank you again for the patient replies
morsifyParticipantThanks again for the prompt replies Ralph, I will hopefully get to grips with it all soon.
morsifyParticipantThank you Ralph, I shall check that out
morsifyParticipantHi Ralph, thanks for answering but I am not understanding.
I have an ATI GPU and a monitor of 1920 x 1080. So surely I cannot use for example 1920 x 1440 or any resolution higher than my monitor unless I use windowed mode?
morsifyParticipantThanks matteo39, I have tried those ideas as well. But I do have numerous visualC++ 2005 versions installed, and it is possible I didn’t uninstall/install the correct ones, so I will try again later, one more concerted effort.
The trouble is, all those suggestions are for those who cannot get the game to run at all. But I CAN get it to run, and I am only getting that error when I try to run the game WITH Vorpx.
Thanks again, I appreciate the suggestions, I’ll try it again later.
morsifyParticipantI gave up on the dual boot idea – I believe I can only install vorpx once, plus I am always careful what I install for the reasons RJK mentions. I didn’t want to start installing two Oculus Homes, two vorpxs, etc.
I’ve tried running things every way I can think of – shortcuts, admin, compatibility modes, disk version, steam version.
Every time it is the same – the game runs in flat screen, but the same error appears when I try to use vorpx. I give up.
(I did start looking for a cracked version of GTA4, but I am always put off by the suspicious pop ups and fear of viruses).
Not the end of the world, but I must admit, it was probably the one game I really bought Vorpx for, and after all that the only thing I’ve achieved is buying a pointless second copy of the game LOL
morsifyParticipantThanks RJK, tried that but it didn’t work. I will have to spend some time on it when I get chance. I’ve got dual boot on this pc, so I might have to try running it from W7 instead of W10 to see if I have better luck.
morsifyParticipantReally disappointed. I bought it on Steam and I still have the problem. The ame runs fie in flat screen. But when I start Vorpx and then start GTA4, I get the error message ‘seculauncher failed to start application 2000’
I have tried starting everything as admin (Steam, GTA4, Vorpx, Oculus home). I’ve tried installing various C++ 2005 redistributables, x64 & x32, and it still throws up the same error.
I search and find many people with the same problem, twice as many different views on how to fix it, but no definitive answers that have been proven to work.
If anyone recognises this error and has succeeded in getting past it and running Vorpx I would really appreciate them posting here.
Cheers :)
morsifyParticipantThanks for replying, I may buy it on Steam instead – does it work in full vr mode with reasonable scaling/fov ?
I’ve had the dvd version a long time & played it a lot, so I don’t mind buying it again on Steam if it’s an improved experience over the non vr version. What do you think? Thanks
morsifyParticipantIs anyone successfully starting GTA 4 (non Steam version) with vorpx please?
My game runs fine (with the original dvd in the drive), but if I activate vorpx first, when I start GTA4 I get a message telling me to use the original DVD and try again.
It IS the original DVD in the drive, and only gives the error when vorpx is active, so I don’t know what else to try.
Has anyone any suggestions for this please, before I try a reinstall of the game?
Thanks
