tonydaracerParticipantThinking more about this (have yet to find the time to troubleshoot)…
The Quest 2 is connected via USB-C to the PC using the only USB-C port I have which is on the mobo…
FH6 graphics menu is showing no VRAM usage when I use VorpX.
My only monitor goes dark like it’s going to sleep when I run VorpX (the light turns orange which is what happens when it sleeps)…
Maybe this means that, for some reason, using VorpX to play FH6 makes the game think I don’t have a GPU? In which case perhaps there is a setting somewhere either in VorpX or in FH6 that forces either app to use the GPU that would resolve this issue.
tonydaracerParticipantSo I was thinking about it some more last night…game’s graphics window doesn’t show any VRAM usage…my headset is plugged in to the mobo by USB-C…and also whenever I run VorpX, my monitor goes dark and sleeps, and won’t turn back on again until I stop running VorpX.
I think a possible cause is that because ultimately my Quest 2 is plugged in to my mobo and that running VorpX turns off the monitor, that effectively the game is running on the mobo’s integrated graphics…
So two options:
1. Connect the Quest via wifi. This will tell me if I’m right.
2. Get a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter for my Link Cable. My XFX Merc Radeon RX 6800 XT Has 3 DisplayPort and 1 HDMI port but no USB-C. A quick Google search on this adapter shows that I need to be particular about choosing the right one as most are unidirectional and I’m sure I’ll need a bidirectional one for this setup…but I still don’t know if this will work at all.
tonydaracerParticipantOkay so it worked today….
Steps:
1. Boot PC
2. Connect peripherals
3. Open Moza Pit House and adjust settings
4. Open AMD Adrenaline
5. Boot Quest 2
6. Initiate PC Link (hardwired) from Quest 2 settings
7. In Quest 2 Meta Link, select VorpX
8. The Meta Link app glitches, I hear the Windows 10 peripheral tone, then I get kicked back to the Quest 2 home screen
9. Wait for Quest 2 to detect PC connection, then click Enable
10. Back into the Meta Link App on my Quest 2, I clicked VorpX
11. Get taken to my desktop, adjust screen settings
12. Run FH6It works but the FPS is trash. I made a new thread for the FPS issue. This thread can be considered closed unless anyone wants to continue pursuing it.
This is also how I run FH4 but I start FH4 through the Microsoft Store app instead. And my FH4 works flawlessly in VorpX.
tonydaracerParticipantAlso forgot to mention VorpX version: 25.1.5
tonydaracerParticipantSo after setting the Narrator to play over speakers I do not have plugged in, I no longer hear it.
My only concern is that this is a sort of “bandaid” fix which can be easily undone by a Windows or a VorpX update, and I’d like to explore completely resolving this issue.
tonydaracerParticipantForgot to mention I’m only running 1 monitor.
This issue only occurs on FH6.
I frequently play FH4 with VorpX just fine.
