After updating to the latest version, I can no longer click buttons in the in-game config menu with the mouse in desktop viewer. This only seems to affect desktop viewer, as I can interact with the in-game config menu fine when launching a game with a profile. But no matter what I try, it does nothing when I click any button in that menu while in desktop viewer.

And because it was the title of the topic : I think on my hardware (RTX4090) it’s more impressive than Cyberpunk 2077 (the last time I tried a few years ago at least), like a lot of other games.

It’s true G3D, with rich outdoors environments and detailed giant and hairy mammoths ! ;)

Not as beautiful as Frontier Of Pandora or Metro Exodus, but it’s still something to experience (if you like 3dof VR as I do)

I just tried the official profile with V24 (I wanted to do it for years and someone just posted about it).

The beginning with the mammoths was very impressive, as expected :)

I played in Full VR G3D with 3840×2880 4:3 resolution and max graphics. 100° (/120°) FOV in the game’s settings (on Reverb G2) and I used this mod to set the weapon FOV to 110° :

No problem to hook, even with Virtual Monitor. It worked instantly.

Z3D worked for me when I relaunched the game (not the first time). It’s not the best Z3D I have seen in Vorpx, neither the worse.
G3D is great, but I have indeed shadows glitches in a lot of areas and I agree it hurts eyes a bit sometimes (maybe I could get used to it but a fix would be great).
You can disable G3D shadows in VorpX’s menu (and lower gamma in this case), and it seems to work perfectly but it’s also a bit less beautiful.

Using the lowest shadow parameter (in game’s settings) doesn’t affect graphics a lot (trust me, I usually don’t lower graphics) and it solves most of the G3D shadows problems (at least they are a lot less noticeable). These are probably the most beautiful and impressive settings I tried (but it’s a bit less comfortable than perfect profiles like Bioshock, Metro 2033, etc.)
A G3D shadow fix would still be great (but I guess it’s hard to do).

I would recommand switching between options (you can do it instantly) depending on the area / situation.

I disabled most “auto” options and played with high resolution so maybe I broke something and it’s possible to get a better result.

I was able to resize HUD in both Z3D and G3D modes (at least after switching to Z3D one time). I used max ClarityFX, sharpness and texture enhancement (and low gamma) in VorpX.

Too bad I already finished this wonderful game years ago and I lack spare time, but it’s quite incredible in VR.

If there’s a way to troubleshoot, please let me know here. Pointing to extensive documentation is not something I’d like to do before playing a game. Vorpx is software, so I should be able to plug it in as easily as possible.

    Hey there,

new to vorpX and didn´t try it for now but I bought it yesterday and tried to install it under Windows 10 x64. Installer started but did not finish. I registered the program but neither tested it, nor did I install it a second time. I left the installer running for close to 2 hours but it didn’t close in the end. Can report back it things worked without installing a second time. I have installed Virtual Desktop as well for my Quest 3 but did not close the desktop streamer. Unfortunately I didn´t close the streamer. So may be it interfered with vorpX ? I do not know.

I’ve tried the troubleshooting guide and nothing works other than the desktop app. I’ve spent many hours trying to get this to work. Is there anything else I can do to get this to work? I tried sending an email to support@vorpax.com with the troubleshooting zip but it’s address not found. Is there a new address to send this information? What can I do to help you help me?

Hi Ralf, thanks for the quick response.
The game does support simultaneous mouse/gamepad input.
Everything worked just fine with vorpx a few weeks ago, I played already through half of the game like this. Furthermore I don’t need to play with gamepad, just mouse and kb is fine.

The problem is independent of gamepad usage, even if I launch the game without the gamepad and the gamepad override option to “On” the mouse still does not move the camera.
Only if I disable vorpx it will work normally.

Is there a way to roll back to an older vorpx version to see if it is related to the updates?

Ok I figured some things :)
I don’t know why but this time all the resolutions appeared in game video settings.
To free my view with the headset I had to crankd up headset sensitivity to 4.0 way more than usual.

Only problem I still have is with Vorpx my Xbox controller isn’t properly working in game when it works perfect without Vorpx. With Vorpx interaction keys always switch to keyboard keys so it’s a pita to use inventory, open doors etc…
If I override Xbox controller in Vorpx, it changes keys or doesn’t respond at all

    @Ralph,
Thanks but I don’t use Pimax foveated rendering nor gpu scaling.
And yes I’m using Vorpx desktop viewer with virtual monitor activated.
In virtual monitor settings I ticked “add predifined resolutions above 4k” and even add a custom 2880×2800 resolution.
But ingame settings didn’t show any of those above 4k resolutions and putting game settings to nicer or ultra doesn’t change the resolution of the game.
How do I change game resolution with Vorpx overlay? And how do I know which resolution is the game rendering?
It would be nice to have a slider resolution like in other VR mods (UEVR or Luke Ross etc)

Other thing is when I use the VR detection from Vorpx in Metro, my view in headset is not free like it should in VR, I had this in other game and had to sxitch Vr memory off in Vorpx to get the normal free view but it doesn’t work with Metro Exodus…

    Hello everybody,

since the latest update(s) the mouse does not control the camera anymore in Mass Effect 3 LE (using the ME1 LE profile).
Until now things worked fine, but now only the cursor is moved by the mouse, not the camera anymore. Mouse and keybord buttons still work and so does playing with the gamepad. I tried basically every setting I could find, nothing helps. When I use the VR controllers in Mouse/KB mode, the analog sticks stop working as well btw. I am playing on Pico 4 using Virtual Desktop and immersive screen mode.

Is anybody having similar issues? I presume it is a bug introduced with one of the latest updates, the last time it worked was roughly a month ago, I did not play in the meantime.

    Best,
    Till

    @ chtiblue

IIRC another Pimax user recommended to turn off fixed foveated rendering in the Pimax software regarding a similar issue. Doesn‘t really make sense performance wise with vorpX anyway since games always render at their own resolution. Foveated rendering only applies to vorpX’s second render step where the final image is sent to the headset, which costs almost nothing compared to the actual game rendering.

Also make sure that the virtual monitor is actually active. It‘s not active when you just launch a game from your normal Windows desktop. You can activate it e.g. by launching the vorpX desktop viewer and putting on your headset.

    @ 333hronos

    Fixed obviously.

I’ve tried everything I could think of to get all versions of WOW to work again with vorpX. Generic hook helper is the only hook helper that will hook, but WOW exit crashes after 1 minute, even without an internet connection at the login screen. Also, if you leave the hook helper installed and close vorpX and run WOW, it still crashes at the 1 minute mark, until generic hook helper is removed. Hoping WOW will work again one day with vorpX because it was so awesome!

    Hi Ralph,
Having a Pimax Light and soon a Pimax Air Dream, I appreciate the Virtual monitor with higher custom resolutions but I can’t make make it proper work.
Where canI see and how do I choose a specific custom high resolution (or even the predifined above 4k res)?
For example in Metro Exodus, in game’s vorpx overlay I only see nice/ultra game settings but it changes nothing in game, it always looks low res. Only way I found is disable desktop viewer to use my 4k tv res 2160p, but I want to go higher & 1:1 resolution
    Cheers

Hi, from memory I think I did get it working but I haven’t used it for a while so it may not be working still. As I said originally just renaming the dx12 file didn’t work. You have to make a new file, tell steam to launch using that file, then make a new profile on vorpx using that file.

I copied the F1_2020_dx12.exe and renamed it to F1vorpx.exe (or something like that), then in the game’s properties on steam, I added the address of the new .exe file in quotation marks to the launch option modification line followed by %command%. I think I also changed the “selected launch option” so that it runs in dx12 by default (99% sure – otherwise it was run in dx11 but that doesn’t make sense to me).

So in the launch option modification field you should have something like:

“C:\..[wherever your games are installed]..\steamapps\common\F1 2020\F1vorpx.exe[or whatever you name it]” %command%

Then in the vorpx I made a new profile which I’m pretty sure was based on the F1 2021 profile (again I think – otherwise it might have been based on the F1 2020 profile) and assigned the new F1vorpx.exe program to it.

Let me know how you get on :)
