Couple days with no news. How are things going?
Another developer with a Rift here waiting to take VorpX for a spin :) Mine arrived last Monday too (UK). I know you were having problems with tracking for Racing games like Dirt3, you mentioned you’ve solved them but I just though you might like to know I’ve added Oculus Tracker support to FaceTracNoIR, which can output freetrack2.0 (among other things), and talk to the TrackIR protocol in Dirt2,3 etc as well as many others. This means that even for titles that you haven’t got working head tracking, we can probably still get head tracking via this route, and this route goes through the games intended head tracking codepath, which might help deal with some rendering bugs (like head roll artifacts, which don’t happen using this).
Expect it in the next release (1.8) but contact me directly if you’d like a pre-release build to play with.
Mine arrived last Monday. The basic adjustments in vorpX are done, only a few secondary features aren’t fully implemented. The driver is currently in beta testing to make sure that everything works as smooth as possible for the first public release. Still no fixed release date has been set though.
Great news. Take your time, just try and keep us posted on your milestones and breakthroughs. I have at least 7 games from your list of supported games, I just hope Formula 1 2012 gets support sooner than later.

If nothing unforeseen happens, you won’t have to wait very long anymore. Doesn’t make much sense to release anything, before I had the chance to check whether everything looks OK with the real Rift.
I had already press demos though with a DIY-prototype, so rest assured that it works. :)
So I understand that fixing the UI is a problem for most current games on the Rift. Do you have anything planned to accommodate this?
Online gaming is not recommended for now, since unfortunately I have no way of telling how anti-cheat systems react. I tried to reach out to Punkbuster regarding a possible validation process, but haven’t heard back from them so far. Maybe once vorpX is available it will be easier to get in touch.
That being said, vorpX’s base mechanism is similar to Fraps, the Steam overlay or image enhancers like SweetFX etc. which are used by many people online without any problems. If game companies would start banning everyone who uses some kind of DirectX intercepting program, they would have to ban a lot of people for no reason. I just can’t guarantee anything.

I have heard rumours of your driver being compatible with a lot of existing games but I still remain very sceptical as there has been no demos or even videos of it working. Sorry, but I’m going treat the Vorpx driver as vapourware . Hope I’m proven wrong though. I’ll come back in 4 months time and see how things are going.
Right now the Rift support is the top priority, sorry. Once everything is fully ironed out in that regard, I might take a look at other options.
I’m not quite sure whether 3D-Vision support is possible at all though.
Hey, great job on doing this VorpX, I don’t want you to think that I am ungrateful, but please, the shipping has started, people started getting their headsets. The hype is up.
Now can’t you release a demo of your driver so we know that it is the real thing? One game wouldn’t hurt!
Something like Portal! (Why you should take Portal is because Valve will eventually make support for all their Source engine games) Anyhow, imagine showing your friends the Oculus and Portal for the first time. They would totally freak out!
And it’s fine if you don’t release something, but I think showing people that your driver indeed works will probably give you a few more donations and costumers later on.
Keep up the good work!
Unfortunately I have nothing to compare. The resolution could be better of course, but it’s really not that bad, provided you don’t look at it with a tech-geeks eyes. Look at the picture, not the pixels. :)

You are right! Two things at the same time does not …
I suggest you temporarily leave the forum! Make an announcement, and walk away with his head in to work on VorpX. Sure! Mind no one will!
Unsubscribe when they make a report.
Not sure exactly how much I informed my thought …
Shorter! Work, and focused on us. Who does not hurt!
I would say: Do not be distracted by us! We do not take offense.

BURNOUT PARADISE !!!!!!
Could you imagine this? this is the perfect VR experience
It’s nor perfect, there isn’t a cockpit view. It is, however, an amazing game. racing games in general I’m hyped for – the perfect thing to go with my awesome new wheel
of course there’s a cockpit view. On xbox you just need to press Y to get the view from inside just as if you were in the car.
