If you want to use the Avatar (SBS) Profile you must do the settings below to use G3D Mode. This is not a hack, i was using legal inGame settings and vorpX capabilities.

James Camerons Avatar is a great game, all those crazy plants and colours you know from the movie look insane in Geometry 3D.

Sadly some shaders were badly broken when using Far Cry 2/3 Profiles. Other engines didnt work at all. – This morning, i read somewhere here in the forum about Ralf mentioning some Side by Side profiles for media players, this let me experiment with some of those.

I do not know if other games beside Avatar and Far Cry 2 provide internal 3D functions for example for 3D Tv’s, but any game which provides this should work this way(SBS).

In certain for Avatar the following settings must be done, otherwise you will get a too wide image or 3D will not work.

1- use a Desktop resolution of 8:9 , example: 1920×2160
2- enable “dont stretch” in the Nvidia panel
3- set ingame (for this example to: 2160×2160, dont ask me why this ratio works best)
4- enable 3D under the games Video Settings
5- choose Side by Side mode
6- keep Force Widescreen OFF
7- Set antialiasing to 4
8- dont use DX10

use the profile from the cloud called : Avatar (SBS)

Geometry 3D works excellent this way, no broken shaders, you can keep Bloom and Shadown ON, the only thing is that a Media player profile does not have as many settings as a real G3D profile. With a “real” G3D profile more depch can be set, positional headtracking , camera height ect. is missing here but headtracking in main works. AA brings more smoothness into the game. Turn OFF of you need some more frames.

This profile should be quite an alternative until a real G3D profile with more options can be availaible

I noticed that vorpx is changing my pc power settings to performance, is there a way to disable this??

2.)
I played around with Desktop Viewer and there is a SBS mode. I tried to set a hotkey to switch between normal an SBS, but it wont work, is this possible?

Last night i posted this under “Game hints and Settings”. Pushing the submit button after correcting my text made the textfield empty. I was entering the whole text again, the forum said something like “you said this already” even the field was empty. I slightly changed the text again and reentered it, the field was empty again. This went onfor a couple of times. During that i noticed an increase of the posting number
up to #171673. After a while the form accepted my corrected text.

Now the posting exists (see above link) but its not visible under “Game hints and Settings”.

Can someone answer to this with a short note to see if it can make it visible again.

I’ll check that. No promises, but if possible I’ll unlock the SBS display option for the semi-official PCSX2 profile and upload it to the coud within the next few days.

In the past when i had 3D Vision, i was able to do sbs with pcsx2. I used i patch, but it should be built in now.

hi u might want to use 3d depth shader from reshade… Thas the thing u look for when playing SBS and there is no need for voprx just the steam vr and cv1

someone made a g3D plugin for pcsx2 but it’s soooo laggy and bad. Can vorpx even work with pcsx2? really really wanna play sly 2, sly 3, ratchet and clank in 3D. Does vorpx even work with pcsx2? i know G3D definitely won’t work but SBS (z normal) 3D would still be great

What would be the advantage of running this as opposed to Dolphin VR or regular Dolphin in SBS mode and Bigscreen?

You should try disabling VorpX FOV and trying Flawless Widescreen instead, just to compare. You still use VorpX for head tracking and SBS 3D.

I was having the exact same issue with GTA V.

I stopped VorpX from setting the FOV and found another app to set it and the result was a HUGE increase in both image quality and in frame rate, with the drawback being FOV is not as perfectly calibrated as it was when I let VorpX manage it.

VorpX is great for head tracking and for SBS 3D but at least with GTA V and possibly other games I think you might want to try and set FOV with either a mod or a second app (I think it might be better to set resolution yourself too). The cost in frame rate and image quality can be quite high otherwise.

so I tried a non steam game, using extended mode, crisis 2.

But I see 2 sbs screens on my monito but nothing in my headset.

ive tried duplicate, extended, pc screen only etc..

no luck

how can I get the sbs in my vr headset, psvr.
